My stupid computer locked me out before I could fully explain but I have been looking for a pony artist to do a webcomic with. The only requirement is that they have some experience with fictional art and a scanner. The basic premise is that we follow the story of Shard. She is one of the royal guard earth pony sector...in training. But no matter what she does she never is able to complete any tasks correctly. They reassign her to the watchtower at the edge of the everfree forest for alarm duty. There she meets (I based these characters on people I know.) Diamond: a pegasus who because of a magic in her bloodline is part dragon, Raider:(give me a break...if the artist wants I need a new character they can base on themselves.)A unicorn with a aptitude for elemental dark magic. Not evil dark magic.Who hides his talent with a fake cutie mark and is the town blacksmith.Spark an earth pony with an iq FAR beyond his time. He has a lab at the tower. Topaz follows the story of Twilight and her...

@raiderjoseph Sounds interesting. I'm way the hay overworked, but if there's something specific you want I could try my hoof at it over my long weekend. Not a great artist, though. My dA sketchpad, while almost never updated, will give you an idea of where in the learning process I am.

@raiderjoseph Gee.. I forgot how much I forgot to upload, there's not much more there at the moment than trying to draw a decent avatar. http://eaglehooves.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=scraps Seeing your whole plan, I think I'd be in way over my head. I'll try a few panels if you give me specifics, but I don't think I'll be up to expectation, and I don't have that much time to commit. Also, consider revising the ending a bit. It goes really Mary Sue, really fast. I think you'll turn a lot of ponies off really fast, as it's written.

@eaglehooves Well...I didn't want to spoil it...but yeah something has to cause the fires right?A fire elemental. And they have to fight it off. And it's an actual for serious battle too.

@raiderjoseph Action isn't what I said the issue was. It's the fact that your characters go completely Mary Sue with their powers. While not completely applicable to ponies (There's one that any pony with a cutie mark gets a point for), here's a decent guide to when you may need to dial it back. http://www.ponylandpress.com/ms-test.html I'm more of a [comedy] than [adventure] pony myself, but Alicorns are a bit of a red flag for all genres. They can be written well, but even good authors seem to struggle with them at times.

@eaglehooves Wow I had no idea that existed. Forgive the misunderstanding. I'll take the test with all my characters and see if they pass or not. Thanks.

@raiderjoseph It's not something you have to follow to a T, but it's something to conceder. Some good fics have failed the test, so it's not definitive, but if you fail it spectacularly you're probably playing with fire, and as a first work (correct me if I'm wrong) that's setting you up for a challenge.

@eaglehooves Actually the scores came out: Shard: 40 but all the qualities of Shard's persona I can't change...she is kinda simplistic. Raider: 20 I thought he would be a 50 but wow... Spark: 13 He IS the most original of the group. Diamond: 20 I had to fix a few things but this is good.
