    1. @ceruleanspark Ewwww, ereaders.

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:20:20 UTC from web
      1. @redenchilada WHAT IS IT WITH YOU PEOPLE AND DOING THAT. I don't go up to people with books and go "eeew inefficient tree based media".

        1. @ceruleanspark Books don't need batteries.

          1. @colfax So I guess I have to take a guitar with me everywhere since my mp3 player needs batteries

          2. @colfax I have never had an issue with my Kindle's battery life, but yes, this is true. I'm just not a fan of the storage density of paper media. I also like the "Instant access" functions. Being able to buy a book from the middle of goddamn nowhere is nice. Especially if you're not going to be able to leave anytime soon.

            1. @ceruleanspark Yeah, and their ability to delete stuff you've paid for is a nice perk too.

              1. @colfax They're not able to do that anymore.

                1. @ceruleanspark Also not very keen on a massive database of what books I like being out there either.

                  1. @colfax That's not an issue with e-readers though. That's an issue with a couple of very specific ereaders. If you buy a non-networked sony and load it up with pirate books, then none of those things are an issue.

                    1. @ceruleanspark oh man can you pirate books now

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:32:21 UTC from web
                      1. @redenchilada That is how I mostly get my books, yes. Occasionally I buy stuff from amazon on it, but mostly just stealing.

                    2. @ceruleanspark It's easier to just go to the library.

            2. @ceruleanspark But can you tear pages out of a Kindle and fold them into paper planes?

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:27:07 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
              1. @redenchilada (Which, if it's not, should be a feature in all ereaders.)

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:30:57 UTC from web
                1. @redenchilada I carry a field-notes notebook just so I can do that with a $30 notebook.

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:31:57 UTC from web
                  1. @ceruleanspark But it's much more fun to give reading to whomever picks up your paper plane!

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:33:33 UTC from web
                    1. @redenchilada and not $30 grid marked notepaper?

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:34:08 UTC from web
                      1. @ceruleanspark I want to read your airplanes, not graph calculations on them.

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:34:41 UTC from web
                        1. @redenchilada What if I wrote haikus on them?

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:35:19 UTC from web
                          1. @ceruleanspark That would be better, actually. "This is an airplane\It is made out of paper\I wrote this on it"

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:36:21 UTC from web
                            1. @redenchilada There should be a !haiku group!

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:37:31 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                              1. @scribusmyers Make it!

Saturday, 22-Oct-11 21:40:22 UTC from web
                                1. @redenchilada Consider it done / Another novelty group / Soon forgotten, cold - !haiku
