@abigpony Yes, sorry, sort of juggling things here, plus accidentally hitting Enter before I was ready, having to go back, delete it, continue it . . . Plus, I can be a bit slow here, often.

Great. More racist, homophobic trolls for me to block. Someone let me know when the levels of toxic stupidity are back to levels that permit survival in limitedcexposure, K
-
@astra Three days from now, and all the idiots will be gone.
-
@astra I think one's personal timeline should be safe(r) than the public seems to be.
-
@astra am I racist and homophobic Astra?
-
@astra I tried to calm him down, but it didn't seem to work...
-
@abigpony huh, what?
-
@abigpony she blocked me, if I'm not mistaken.
-
@nerthos Mmm. One can dream.
-
@scribuscampbell I think that you're right, there. 'Tis what I get for straying out to the public timeline, yet again. When will I learn?
-
@abigpony I would still like to, alas, my contributions to the site are often met with a harsh eye.
-
@pinhooves Yeah, unfortunately, when it comes to trolls, trying to calm them simply fuels them.
-
@astra Nopony knows... I still do it myself, from time to time. I like to think it's a manifestation of optimism.
-
@abigpony soooooooo?
-
@astra Well, not all of them, but at least the flood.
-
@scribuscampbell Ha! I think that you may be right, there. We all must push our own boundaries, from time to time, I suppose, even if we often wind up regretting it later . . . and then wind up going back again, recalling those few times where it did bear fruit.
-
@astra Eyup. Pain fades, but a true friend lasts a lifetime.
-
@astra Oh hi Astra. How're you today?
-
@scribuscampbell So very true. :) So, anyway, aside from the silliness here, doing well there tonight?
-
@astra I'm good, yeah. Drunk, but good. :p Et tu?
-
@ceruleanspark Hello, Cerulean! (By the way, love the new tag idea. :D ) Actually, I'm doing better, after a rough day. I had the kind of headaches you've been having on top of the usual work mayhem. Spent some time with my honey this evening, though, and that helped a lot. :) Got in a little stargazing this evening, so, overall, I'm doing well now. And how are you this morning?
-
@abigpony Trying not to get TOO busy. Just sort of wrapping up a few things before I call it a night. :)
-
@astra Today I have irrational anger. Huge quanities there of. Even soft classical music isn't helping.
-
@ceruleanspark You should try black metal then!
-
@nerthos Ah, that should be a bit easier to manage, then, yes. I can hope that some of the recent arrivals will be nicer, to balance things out, and that they might stick around. Alas, like matter and antimatter, these things tend to wipe each other out. Still, I can hope.
-
@scribuscampbell Eep! Well, as long as you don't have to go anyplace. :) Glad to hear you're doing well! And I'm doing all right, thank you! Not a great day, but ended nicer, and feeling mildly productive now.
-
@astra There were some good new people before, and two or three of them seemed to like it here, so we'll be probably seeing them again soon.
-
@ceruleanspark Irrational anger. Ouch. I hope that you have a semi-productive -- or, at least a non-counterproductive -- outlet for this?
-
@astra I don't think it helps that this community welcomes newcomers the way soldiers would welcome a grenade landing in their trench.
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@nerthos Oh, gads, my honey listens to that. My particular favorite is when she breaks out the Christian death metal.
-
@ceruleanspark Hehe
-
@ceruleanspark I try my hardest to make newponies feel welcome.
-
@nerthos Yay, good! I hope so. :)
-
@astra I'm more of a orchestral metal fan, but it's fun to joke about black metal.
-
@astra Nowhere to go but bed. :p Sorry to hear your day was sub-great, but at least it picked up. ^_^
-
@pinhooves Yeah, me too. So long as they're nice, anyway. Some people are just insufferable.
-
@astra I'm sure I'll think of something, or go too crazy to care.
-
@ceruleanspark Ahhh. Not sure that's an apt analogy, since the only folks who would run toward it, in that case, are heroes. Here, it'd be more like someone running toward it to pick it up and throw it and three more live grenades toward the people in the next trench over who didn't notice. :/
-
@ceruleanspark I tried to calm another one down, but it wasn't working. He just came on at the wrong time, that's all...
-
@pinhooves Yes, you definitely do try hard. Points for good effort. :)
-
@scribuscampbell Well, in that case, bottoms up! ;) And, yes, it certainly could have been worse. Of course, tomorrow, it's back into the minefield, but there's always hope. :)
-
@pinhooves Ha ha. He came. (I felt too tempted, sorry for being a moron xD)
-
@astra Hope, indeed! In fact, I've found that many negative emotions are just hope in disguise - like, if you "hate the world," it's because you think people can be better: basically, that's optimism. Just... bleak optimism. I guess?
-
@astra I just feel that everypony should feel welcome.
-
@nerthos Ahhh. Sort of like Nightwish? Or, reaching further back, Savatage (one of my old favorites, actually)?
-
@ceruleanspark Mmm. Too crazy to care doesn't sound fun. For us, anyway. But maybe I'm just being selfish, there.
-
@astra Nightwish, Epica, Sirenia, After forever... I should hear Savatage, now that you mention it.
-
@astra No, I need to direct it AWAY from you guys. At, for instance, my coworkers. Who deserve it anyway.
-
@scribuscampbell Heh! An interesting point of view. I'll have to remember that when I'm feeling like ringing someone's neck. "It's not that I'm fed up with you! It's that I'm just so optimistic that you could really be a better person, if you just stopped acting like such a complete self-absorbed prat!"
-
@astra heh Took me about a year in therapy to get there, but I can believe it. :p
-
@nerthos Ah, good stuff. And I would definitely recommend Savatage (also known as Trans-Siberian Orchestra). "Gutter Ballet" might be a good place to start.
-
@astra I definitely will hear it. Thanks for your advice :D
-
@ceruleanspark Ahhh, that does sound a lot more productive, yes. I've learned there are two people that you never, NEVER want to tick off in the business world: receptionists, and I.T. techs/administrators. Both can help tremendously in difficult situations, if you're on their good side, and both can make your living Hell if you rub them the wrong way.
