@pinhooves If you think back to his accidental growth spurt in the Cutie Mark Chronicles, his shape definitely changes as well. Plus there's the question of whether or not he grows wings

@tenmihara Oh, the anguish! I think it's up between . . . Luna Eclipsed, Cutie Pox, or Lesson Zero. Lesson Zero, I guess. (so hard to pick one!)

@scribus Sisterhooves Social, then Cutie Pox for me. Lesson Zero was uproarious when I first saw it, but diminished over time. Sisterhooves hit home with the relationship I had with my little sister, and it always makes me feel good. Cutie Pox drew on one of my favourite Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales, and was just plain fun

@tenmihara Sisterhooves was really good, too (and I think I totally get your meaning with the little sister). Did I not list that? Did I mention the difficulty in choosing? XD

@scribus I feel you on that. I loved the S2 Pilot, but it's on a whole different level from the regular episodes. Luna was great in ep 4, plus Pip was cute, but on the whole the episode didn't quite hit home as well as the two subsequent episodes. May the Best Pet Win got huge points for the new song, and is apparently my little sister's favourite now. Mare-do-Well had its moments, but overused a few cliches and had a new writer who's still a little wet behind the ears (while i can understand Dash's character flaws, she overplayed it a little bit)

@tenmihara Yeah, the 2-part adventure episodes are almost like a different series in away. Kind of unfair to compare with the standard episodes, in ways. I definitely appreciated the new song is Best Pet, but overall Dash has been kind of obnoxious this season... Anyway, still a lot better than *ugh* 3.5.

@scribus Rainbow Dash has always been obnoxious. Me and Gherkin rewatched the series as a marathon this weekend. We played a hypothetical drinking game where every time RD was a jerk, you took a drink. If we'd actually had any alcohol, we'd both be on the liver transplant waiting list about now.

@ceruleanspark Yeah, but that was a whole season. Take the last couple of episodes from S2 and you'd be in the same boat. But, hey, she's a loyal jerkass, right?

@scribus Rainbow Dash always dresses in style. But seriously, she's the youngest of the mane cast so it's understandable for her to have more to learn, but it's been played up a bit much in the last couple episodes

@tenmihara I wonder if we'll see an episode that focuses on her previously unexplored sensitive side?

@scribus That would be a nice change. Sonic Rainboom is her best episode because it explored her insecurities and anxieties, in addition to her competitive spirit (and didn't over use her flaws)

@tenmihara To be fair, Sonic Rainboom was supposed to be focused on Rarity's flaws to counterbalance (if taken as a whole) Suited for Success and A Dog and Pony Show.

@ceruleanspark a valid point. However, my only real problem is people who hate on Rainbow Dash. True she has a fair number of character flaws, but that doesn't make her a bad character. It just means she has the most room to grow (which is fitting, as she seems to be the youngest of the Mane six)

@tenmihara S2 is the first time, (aside from Fall Weather Friends, I guess?) that RD's flaws have been exposed to the degree they have. She didn't really have any "This is RD's problem" episodes. Fluttershy had Dragonshy, AJ had Applebuck Season, Rarity had Suited for Success/A dog and pony show, Pinkie had Party of One, and to an extent Griffon the Brush off, and Twilight had Feeling Pinkie Keen (and to an extent, the pilot and Look before you Sleep)
