@scribus No, the tree I have now uses a rotating disc with a checkerboard of different colors to light the optics, I was thinking that, with a rainbow colored tree, I'd use a simple white light and the disc would be checkerboarded with spots that'd just block the light, so it's be all white spots of light that flicker on and off, give it kind of a shimmering effect.

@colfax That sounds really cool dear, I have a really lame 3ft. Plastic Tree with default BUILT-IN lights! It's a sight to behold.

@jinny That's what I have now, a 3' tree with built-in fiber-optics, but I want to mod it, it uses a halogen light I hate and that disc thing with a noisy motor, I want to replace it all with color changing LEDs, that way it'll still be the same lighting effect without the risk of the halogen light setting everything on fire.

@colfax Ah yes that would be far more effective. ^^ Mine has just LEDs that have LIGHT UP ACTION!

@jinny This one has the light and all in the base and all sorts of fiber-optics running up through the branches, gives the tree a decidedly furry look when it's not switched on.

@redenchilada Oh hell yeah, it's trimmed out in garland and way too many ornaments, all that's missing is a Pinkie Pie ornament.

@colfax "Too many" has no meaning on Christmas trees. You're probably confusing it for "not enough".

@redenchilada Sadly my tree has no garland, unless you count Judy Garland because I have some Wizard of Oz Christmas Ornaments.

@jinny What a travesty. I hope you're fixing this, because Pinkie Claus will not leave you any presents if your tree has no garland.
