      1. @mrdragon I've never had a site that big, unless you count my image host. That has a good like 50k images by now.. Takes FOREVER to back up, and that's with download speed not up x.x

        1. @minti My own personal site, I had several subdomains for the likes of Web based admin software for servers as well as the Sourcebans administration system. Then forums, image hosting site and several other things. Whopped up a huge size.

                              1. @mrdragon cool... I'm trying to get a bitcoin calculating cluster computer using ATI 6990's... but the funds are kinda.. not there.. So far, I only have my normal computer, poor graphics card, but with 16 gb ram, 1 TB HDD, and i7-2600k

                                  1. @mrdragon I guess... but my computer isn't, especially at 32 megahashes a second!... pffft... I wanna beat those youtube showoffs that have 8 gigahashes...

                                    1. @the20percent What I have now is great and stable, but a Duel XEON setup is my goal for later on, 32GB RAM and a dedicated 1000mbit/s port. At the moment I am stuck to 5TB a month Bandwidth and a 100mbit port.

Thursday, 26-Jan-12 02:09:31 UTC from web
                                      1. @mrdragon Is this for your job? because I have no idea even where to GET that much bandwidth, especially at that speed. And xeons aren't that great, they're old, slow (especially considering that its a server processor, probably paired with BUFFERED RAM!)... If you need servers, I'd trust the AMD opterons.

Thursday, 26-Jan-12 02:12:18 UTC from web
                                        1. @the20percent I've used both AMD and INTEL options on all my time creating systems, the XEON's are not that slow when you duel them. And no, this is actually from the company I host from, DUEL core servers are restricted to 5TB a month, but once I get a Quad core system I can get 10TB a month.

                      2. @mrdragon Haha awesome. I'd love that kind of power myself but I'd have no use for it, so I guess I'm fine with my shared machine. xD

                        1. @minti It comes in handy :3 but costly £72 a month until I can build my own and pay them to just host it for me.

              2. @mrdragon Groovy. My "server" is an old Dell a friend of a friend's office was throwing away a couple of years ago. :p And if I tried to actually use it, our internet here is unreliable so it would derp out about daily. So, I just pay a host and feel slightly envious of their computrons.

                1. @scribus Mine is in a UK data center that is one of the best in the UK and Europe. It's a little more expensive then the others, but free replacement parts and excellent tech service is a plus do I am willing to pay.
