@ponydude Yeah. It lets you access a DLC bird that wins the level for you.

I wouldn't have minded if it was any fault of my own, but it was because the PS3 version snaps your slingshot angle at 90 degrees. The perfect angle to win the level would have been just a few degrees out, but no.

@ponydude I guess it's to keep you playing when you might just delete the app, thus losing you as a customer forever.
