    1. @pony Yay~ you found your way back. I was worried we might have lost you forever.

      1. @ceruleanspark Absolutely not. Glad to be back! I'm just working on the last half of my final essay right now. Would you say, in your experience, that many bronies are also fans of MLP? Do you care if I cite you in my paper?

Monday, 16-Apr-12 08:46:43 UTC from web
        1. @pony oops meant PPG not MLP

        2. @pony you write a paper of MLP? What is the question you work with?

Monday, 16-Apr-12 08:48:15 UTC from web
          1. @hakupony It's a persuasive research paper focusing on the positive cultural and individual value of the MLP:FiM fandom.

            1. @pony Interesting. I am interestet in the "doing gender" aspect of media so I'd be interestet in reading your work when you are done.

          2. @hakupony I've established so far that internet culture allows fans to be their true selves, resist social norms, and that online culture in general leaves an impact on its users' daily lives.. now I'm moving on to how MLP influences its fandom, and I've started by comparing its fandom to that of the PPG fandom (albeit they are clearly different).

            1. @pony Btw, I also was a fan of the PPG :) I didn't follow it for a while though, I guess since it doesn't air in german TV any more.

        3. @pony In my experience, there are a lot of people who seem to be fans of Faust and her Husbands previous works, PPG included. I frequently hear it introduced as "By the same people who worked on PPG and Dexters Lab", so they obviously hold those in high regard.

    2. @pony I was. I liked it a lot back in the day. Almost as much as Dexter's Lab. Come to think of it, I think I may have actually DRAWN one of them at some point (or at least attempted to).

      1. @ecmc1093 cool. thanks! I'm a big PPG fan as well. @ceruleanspark excellent point. I see it introduced that way too which is one reason the comparison came so quickly to me.

        1. @pony Being english and poor, my parents never had the money for the requisite satellite TV for me to actually watch PPG.

          1. @ceruleanspark I was sad when my family could no longer afford cable and I wasn't able to watch the show anymore. I don't suppose you've gotten a chance to see the show since have you?

Monday, 16-Apr-12 09:12:24 UTC from web
            1. @pony We still can't afford satellite, and now the time has passed.

              1. @ceruleanspark Well stellite is no more that interesting since you can watch most things online. Awesome for me because I prefer original voice acting in most cases.

              2. @ceruleanspark I see. Most are avaiable on Youtube if I'm not mistaken. Of course time and interest is often fleeting, but you might like it. *shrug*

              3. @ceruleanspark Can't you use a sintonization card over there? And plug the TV yo the PC?

    3. @pony I tried watching it recently, but I found it nowhere near as interesting as I found it when I was a kid.

      1. @thelastgherkin depends on which season for me frankly. After season 3 or4 there were few really great episodes.

Monday, 16-Apr-12 09:03:32 UTC from web
        1. @pony I have no idea what episode/season it was. Sedusa was in it, and she was bald for some reason.

          1. @thelastgherkin oh haha! I'm pretty sure she was in an earlier season, though she may have shown up in a later one I'm not aware of.

            1. @pony I think it was this one. http://powerpuff.wikia.com/wiki/Aspirations

              1. @thelastgherkin ah right. OK that's definitely not the one I was thinking of. Her first episode was good. Not great, but decent I'd say. It's been so long I'm not sure anymore. If you want a feel for what the series was like before it went downhill you might try watching a couple eps from s1 or s2. hmm.. I'd recommend Bubblevicious http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltXAzLlND2k
