how do I make my own browser pony??
-
@dezzierose MAGICKS
-
@dezzierose Magic and shiz. Also editing GIFs, I think @widget has a guide somewhere. Dunno if he's on right now to post the link, though.
-
@dezzierose Oop, never mind, that link @nerthos just posted is the one I was talking about. :D
-
@dezzierose Find a Rose Luck browser pony, edit it in GIMP, magic.
-
@minti Amazing Magic there.
-
@minti how do I even.. I was just gonna make one of my other Oc, she'd look like season 1 Luna without wings. And I was gonna make a second one for Sparky and a third for Summer for some odd reason
-
@nerthos Oh dear, the resource pack is a zip file.. Vista doesn't open zip files:/
-
@dezzierose Download winrar.
-
@dezzierose [c=green]>Vista doesn't open zip files[/c] LOL??
-
@dezzierose Vista doesn't?! *sigh*
-
@dezzierose What? It should open them just fine, that's been a built in thing since XP.
-
@nerthos That's a funny way of spelling 7zip.
-
@widget Sounds like *someone* likes the "Free as in speech" part of free software...
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@widget I never save to them, but I receive a lot of stuff in them that I'm not willing to toss out. I'd say to try 7zip instead, though.
-
@widget I don't CARE about open exchange or patented technology. It works, and that's enough for me. I'm a pirate. If they try to charge me for something, I find a way around it. That's enough for me. I use it since... year 2000? and it never failed me.
-
@scribus New Cabal? New Cabal.
-
@widget That means you still need something that handles .rar.
-
@nerthos Ain't nothing wrong with a little liberty, says I.
-
@eaglehooves 7z handles RAR achives. :p
-
@minti Thats what I use. I thought the issue was with the file type, ranting against RAR in general?
-
@eaglehooves Nah, it's more of a "Don't make RAR's yourself" rant.
Bit Shift likes this. -
@widget But could you give me a REAL reason not to use it? I barely compress files, I just extract them. With coders it's always the same. "That's bad and evil, don't use it" "Why?" "Don't". I'm not going to change my ways without reason.
-
@scribus Yeah, but there's a difference between a little liberty and ranting about it xD
-
@widget I don't. The original thing this started from was trying to open someone else's.
-
@widget Such as LZMA, in the form of either .xz, or .7z (slightly different containers, same compression algorithm)?
-
@widget Excellent. I love me some LZMA (mostly as .tar.xz, but I imagine that's probably less palatable outside of the *n?x ecosystem).
-
@widget I prefer .tar.xz for my own transfers across machines, and .tar.bz2 for stuff going outside of my control. There might be a few systems still not capable of understanding .bz2, but it's low enough in my experience that I'm willing to take that risk in return for the somewhat better compression.
-
@widget Thing with this kind of arguments, is that they are pretty much like car arguments. It's like saying "Don't use that '70s car, there are newer cars that use less fuel and do less noise" But the thing is, I like that '70s car, I always used it, I know what it will do in any given circumstance, and I know how to fix anything that might break. Yeah, I could buy one of those new cars, but they're ugly, weak, unnecesarily complex, I need to bother in buying one, and I can't easily fix them. The '70s one is more than I need. There's no point in buying another ne just because it's sopposedly better.
-
@widget Then again, for IdentiCurse tarballs, I go with both, just because it's pretty easy, and gives people the option to get the smaller one if they can read it, but still have a gzipped one if they really need it.
-
@widget But I'm not going to give my car to most people, just to a couple of friends and relatives. See what I'm going? I don't need more than what I have.
-
@widget It's not about wich one is older. It's about wich one I feel more confortable with and like the most. You're a deeloper. You actually HAVE a reason to give stuff to people. I don't. Most files will be created for personal use.
-
@minti Jump! More gas for the flames! xD
-
@widget RARs Are My Favorite Compression Format.
-
@widget And you'll be all like, "RAR! Y u post .RARs on the internet!? RAR!!"
RDN's Lucifer likes this. -
@widget BRB, uploading many RARs. Lol.
-
@widget That's what I mean, that you both have different criteria for what's "better" to you (convenience vs. compatibility). With that difference still unresolved, actual quality of compression algorithm doesn't even come into it.
-
@widget You'd Better See What I Was Did There! I Also Have No Idea Who You are.
-
@grimauxiliatrix He's ponydude.
-
@widget Oh god do not start typing like Kanaya. OCDDDDD
-
@minti I Don't Really See A Problem With This Mode Of Communication
-
@widget The One That Did The Stuff On The Internet! Now I Still Don't Know You!
-
@bitshift It has some negative effect on readability or something? *le shrug*
-
@bitshift Just 8ecause of you. I'm leaving for five minutes. 8ye. ::::( (>Totally not an excuse to go do chores)
-
@minti Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Does Disengage Debugged Defenses?
-
@widget Oh god no. If someone for real goes into Stallman mode, I will break heads. There's dedication, and then there's... Stallman.
-
@scribus That Sounds Like A Pretty Trivial Tradeoff For Sounding Like The Best Troll
-
@minti Why are you Vriska now?
-
@minti But Kanaya Is Good Troll!
-
@nerthos Auuugh! xD
-
@minti Oh No You Did Not Just Diss Kanaya
-
@minti Still, :33 <*n3rthos thinks n3p3ta is b3st troll*>
-
@nerthos No, just no. xD
-
@minti :33 <*n3rthos do3sn't know how to chang3 th3 t3xt colour from r3d*>
-
@nerthos Also :33 < *minti thinks youre doing it wrong!!*
-
@minti :33 <*n3rthos r3aliz3s his horribl3 mistak3 and go3s back to his littl3 cav3*
-
@nerthos :33 < just throw in some cat puns, and it'll be absolutely purrfect!
