@nerthos that post made me think of 12chan.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 13:51:16 UTC from web-
@pony Never been there xD
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 13:52:45 UTC from web-
@nerthos It no longer exists. It was an interesting place, and one I'm glad I won't be tempted to visit anymore.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 13:57:57 UTC from web-
@pony I'll google it later. Backups exist of all those places.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 13:58:46 UTC from web-
@nerthos really? I'd be surprised if there were a backup. The site had many enemies
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 13:59:38 UTC from web-
@pony There's backups of everything. That's how the internet works.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:00:16 UTC from web-
@nerthos I'd think twice about searching for backups of a fillyphile site. If you do, just be warned there may be viruses, etc.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:10:16 UTC from web-
@pony I spent a year on XP without antivirus, I know my way arount those things.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:10:53 UTC from web-
@nerthos Service Pack 2 ftw?
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:11:26 UTC from web-
@twispark Indeed. I really miss it. SP3 was just a waste of resources.

@nerthos that's good! It's been a long time since my scanners have detected anything, but I no longer visit risky sites. I wouldn't have antivirus if my university's network didn't require it

@nerthos I wouldn't recommend scouring the internet for backups of that website unless you want to get v&. While the site itself wasn't illegal, it had a disproportionate amount of child porn posted to it.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:01:30 UTC from web-
@rarity Oh well, I don't like nor dislike that stuff, and I know how to surf the internet anonimously, so I'll be fine. Also, as I said before, I don't fear international crime organizations like the FBI.

@nerthos I accidentally edited the wrong file when I used to do webdev and killed the company's homepage, I restored it from a cached version on Google xD
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:03:11 UTC from web-
@twispark wow, thats lucky.
-
@techdisk42 Seriously was, although I don't know if they realised that there was backend code that died with that mistake... I blame them totally for not keeping ANY backups of anything!
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:06:21 UTC from web-
@twispark I blame you for editing in production.
-
@ceruleanspark I think I was looking at one site so I could do stuff to another but I got confused because it was all in an annoying javascript inbrowser editor and I lost track of which I was supposed to change, so I saw errors and stuff in the production and started changing that and never stopped so I ended up deleting bits that shouldn't have been in the new page but was in the production page ^^;

@pony 12chan was an interesting place but I don't know what to think of this site morally - but I know that I've never been there since I would never break a law :)
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:14:53 UTC from web-
@hakupony Law and morals are often unrelated, since good morals usually have to do with justice, not law.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:20:06 UTC from web -
@hakupony I rationalized going there because their content featured only clothed individuals. I wasn't afraid of breaking the law due to that sole fact despite the questionable legality of the site.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:21:22 UTC from web-
@pony The german laws are pretty extreme in such things. Since I don't really care if something is legal as long as I don't get caught, I rationalized that lurking would be no harm to anypony. This does of course not mean I actually visited that site :P
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 14:26:10 UTC from web-
@hakupony Of course. U.S. laws still protect such things under free speech, but if you get caught with illegal content, even the technically legal content can and will be used against you in court.
