    Re-watching The Last Air Bender has made me realize just how much like bad fan fiction The Legend of Korra really is.

      @thatoneatomicdoublejuggalobackbreaker The first season of Korra was acceptable. The second season /does/ have Uncle Iroh, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't redeem it.

        @ceruleanspark I haven't watched season 2. Season 1 of Korra was a near empty BIC lighter to The Last Air Bender's welding torch.

          @thatoneatomicdoublejuggalobackbreaker I think that was caused by the writers not getting a clear outline of how long the series would run for and having to change the pace up halfway through

              @thatoneatomicdoublejuggalobackbreaker I wasn't super enamoured with it, but I think if it'd been given proper time to develop and allowed them to establish Amon as more of a fleshed out entity it might have actually been interesting

                @ceruleanspark I just dunno. The whole idea of the city didn't sit with me. Like, Aang worked his whole life to make a city based in equality and he let it it end up being biased? That just didn't seem right. It also seemed like they stuck in characters for no reason. Like, Makko seemed entirely unnecessary. Also the whole thing with Asami's dad just seemed contrived and poorly written.

                  @thatoneatomicdoublejuggalobackbreaker Aang canonically died very young, so it might just have been that he wasn't finished. The entire Asami's dad thing was totally irrelevant, I agree.

                    @ceruleanspark He can't have died that young. The new avatar appears immediately after the last dies, and Korra is only in her late teens. Katara, however, is in her nineties. So he can't have been that young when he died.
