  1. @adiwan Turns out if you don’t set binary log expiration in MySQL and leave it unattended for about 10 years you eventually run out of disk space

  2. I think it's probably time to be honest about this: I have neither the time, nor the motivation to work on this place anymore. There's stuff going on in my personal life I'd rather not get into, so in short: I'm probably going to finally turn this place off in the next few months. If you're interested in taking ownership, let me know, but know that I'd only be comfortable handing it off to someone I know and trust, rather than any rando that shows up.

  3. Still, if you're better at this than me send code that works.

  4. I sort-of-fixed the message box acting weird by forcing it to display the whole box whether you're clicked into it or not. It's fine.

  5. It behaves fine in firefox. Someone who actually knows javascript and css better than me, go ahead and disable the auto-hiding feature and send it to me.

  6. Well, some news: I fixed *most* of it. The following things are still busted: realtime updates are broken (maybe forever? Meteor, the mechanism they worked by relied entirely on undocumented browser features that sort of don't exist anymore, especially in chrome.) Also: the notice box is behaving really weirdly on chrome. Sometimes it works, sometimes it closes straight away. I find tab selecting it works every time.

  14. @scribus I mean last week I managed, using only apt-get upgrade, to uninstall grub from the server, so this is way more "on" than it was

  16. @scribus There's actually a VB emulator for the Oculus Quest 2. It's called "Virtual Boy Go".

  18. @adiwan Gherkins was one of the first-gen models from the AOTC era, so it's entirely possible they've made the design slightly less likely to just explode on contact with a stiff breeze.

  21. @adiwan I hope they've revised the design since I tried to build Gherkins old one. That build is an unfun nightmare and produces the flimsiest model.

  22. @scribus To answer the question I just got via email, the server is a basic digitalocean droplet. The $20 one. Depending on how much traffic you're expecting, you could easily run a couple of instances on there.
