  1. @mrmattimation That they were priced out by runaway rent increases and had to move out of state with their retiree son, who just had a heart attack, and his wife?

  2. @drinkingpony Let's see... I have plans for a time travel action platform puzzler, a top-down fantasy arena combat, a Pac-Man style maze game about gardening, and yeah, if I can swing it a space game kind of like The Guardian Legend where it's 50% space shooter and 50% top-down adventure and 50% maze exploration and 50% gigantic boss fights....

  4. @drinkingpony Yeah, but I also don't have a strong enough competitive drive. I play games for fun, fun doesn't pay the bills. :p I mean, I know I could (on some of these; a lot I genuinely lack the reaction time or manual dexterity; oh, well), but ultimately I wouldn't, you know? Still druther just play for fun and make solo indie games of my own. Perhaps one day... And maybe even sooner than we think!

  5. Sometimes I get cranky that my parents convinced me I would never be able to play video games professionally, but let's be honest, I wouldn't be pulling this kind of crap off anyway so https://youtu.be/Bgh30BiWG58

  11. @drinkingpony I just think it's a seriously unbalanced noise-to-signal ratio and it drowns out any reporting on the real issues.

  12. @drinkingpony Nobody wants to be the organization that "fails" to report on a thing. Trump is loud enough that people will find out he's being absurd, and ask why the news is ignoring something so obvious. So someone is gonna report on it, which now means everyone's got to, and by the time they're done covering their butts, there's nothing left for the real news.

  15. My mom's old cat died last night. Honestly, I had kind of expected it a year to the day after she had gone, but he held out a couple months longer. Over 15 years, total. And he was a little lover all the way to the end. Damnit, I'm gonna miss this cat. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/875088

  17. So I've been watching "The Family" on Netflix. It gets all chilling and spooky and feels like such a lifting of the veil, until I remember I've been watching this show in real-time for like 20 years now. It's more like a retrospective than a revelation.
