Don't get me wrong, guys. There are games that I wish I could play, but I haven't intentionally. I think any game has the potential for me to shut out the earth and become so obsessed that it rivals my love of MLP right now.

@clayinthecarpet solution: pony games
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 00:21:08 UTC from web-
@pony Honestly? I wouldn't play those, either. Here's my thing: I consider games in general a distraction from the task at hand, which is usually either a day job or expressing myself...I can rarely find time for ANY type of game with those things in mind.

@clayinthecarpet did you ever play skyrim its really nice
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 00:23:53 UTC from web-
@rainbowdash1998 I've watched somebody play Skyrim, but that type of game doesn't interest me because it's too..."free"...I like to play through a specific vision of an artist or group of artists and arrive at a specific ending as defined by my character.

@clayinthecarpet We're on the same page. Lately I've only played games because my wife wants to or because something about a particular one catches my eye. Usually, in the latter case, that type of game serves to inspire me, and I do try to expose myself to things that will inspire me for my own creations. If you play pokemon, for instance, you might take the story of camaraderie and companionship between trainer and pokemon as something worth putting into your own creations, or maybe you'll just enjoy the eye-catching designs, show voice acting, addictive game-play, etc. Recently it's been the addictiveness/time requirement that often turns me off to playing RPGs because you're right about it being a distraction from something more meaningful (at least to you and also to me).

@pony Cool response. Yeah, it's certainly subjective. I honestly wish I could just freely enjoy games once again, but these ideas I want to share mean much more to me than the time spent playing games. I don't have a significant other anymore, but my creativity is like a waterfall right now and it means a lot more to me to concentrate on that than sit around plaing a game of any kind and ignoring the issues at hand.

@clayinthecarpet The nice thing about most pony games is that they're short to play and enjoy. For ones I really like I usually only spend an hour then I leave it and maybe never play it again. If Legends of Equestria is ever finished I'll have a difficult time balancing my time because that game already has me hooked and it's absolutely brilliant.

@pony "spend an hour then leave it and maybe never play it again"...Nope. Not possible for me. Whatever I do, I do it 100% or I don't do it at all.
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:05:03 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet a good pony game for me can be played to completion in an hour or two if not less.

@pony I don't think you realize just how stubborn I am. XD
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:08:13 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet I'm thinking something like this: http://www.dragon-mango.com/ponygame/tardy/
It's a beautifully done puzzle game you can complete in 3 hours if you're not very good at it.Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:09:58 UTC from web-
@pony I simply have no interest in that.

@clayinthecarpet play DOTA with me clay
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:12:08 UTC from web-
@rarity Can't. I assume this mindset is probably what helped my breakup occur, honestly. I just don't have any interest in stuff like this and push it away furiously.

@clayinthecarpet the voice acting and little story is so cute
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:18:10 UTC from web-
@pony No care at all. You'd have to literally strap me down like the dude in Clockwork Orange to make me play or watch any of it.
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:19:30 UTC from web -
@pony And I don't mean any offense by it. It's just...so deeply ingrained into me now that only very special experiences can lead me to desire stuff like this.
Saturday, 07-Dec-13 01:27:45 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet Nah. no offense taken. I just finished it in 30 minutes while being distracted and my PC lagging. So kyoot!

@clayinthecarpet unless it's a pony RPG or pony mod used in a more popular or full featured game.. I seriously spent way too much time playing a pony RPG recently.
