  1. Man I'd use the heck out of 3D. I get that it hurts some folks' eyes, but it's so cool to me.

    1. @tia Never seems to hit the sweet spot for me, no matter how it's being done. Like, the uncanny valley of vision itself.

    2. @tia It doesn't hurt my eyes, but I'm really fidgety while gaming and if you move your head while using the 3D it sort of screws it up. At most, I'll turn it on every now and then for some larger cutscenes.

    3. @tia it's not that it hurts my eyes, but it does eventually cause strain and it drains the battery pretty easily if you're not paying attention.

      1. @flamingpandaomg ah batteries yeah :P I love 15 minute rechargeables.

    4. @tia I knew one person who tried out my 3DS once and said the 3D hurt his eyes, then came back another day after being told he was holding it wrong the first time and the 3D worked fine for him.

      1. @redenchilada it's mostly because you have to hold it a certain distance away / at a certain angle and any jostling will cause the image to go screwy. I don't turn it on while I'm in a vehicle.

        1. @flamingpandaomg Well yeah, the 3D truly wasn't implemented well at all.

          1. @redenchilada Meh. I still don't think 3D in general is all that great yet, regardless of whether it's glasses-free or not.

            1. @flamingpandaomg Stereoscopy in media has always been (and will continue to be) a gimmick. Until they can make it work without those goofy glasses, from any angle, at an affordable price, it's not going to be something that goes mainstream. That said, it's a gimmick I enjoy when it's available, and I'll gladly keep the 3D switch on my 3DS turned up and pay the extra $2 to see a movie in 3D (as long as I keep the glasses, of course).

              1. @redenchilada most 3DS games (usually the ones that Nintendo directly makes) implement the 3D really well, considering the limitations. It's the third-party games that don't implement it worth a crap.

                1. @flamingpandaomg I saw a game being advertised on the eShop where the left and right images were reversed. It gave me a headache

                  1. @redenchilada well when I said Nintendo-produced games, I meant their normal series like Mario / LoZ

                    1. @flamingpandaomg (It was a shovelware third-party game being advertised with the inverted images.)

              2. @redenchilada You always keep the 3D glasses and remove the lenses for sudden scenarios in which you need to disguise yourself as an 80s nerd stereotype or hipster.

                1. @northernnarwhal My pastime is stacking as many pairs of glasses on my face as I can

              3. @redenchilada @flamingpandaomg 3D has improved significantly since the 90s at least

                1. @tia yes, but it still can cause brain damage in children 6 and under.

                  1. @flamingpandaomg >brain damage

Eye damage, Ross. Not brain damage.

                    1. @redenchilada I swear I read somewhere that it causes brain damage, not just eye damage.

                      1. @flamingpandaomg To be fair, eye damage is sort of a form of brain damage, although I don't think that's what you meant.

                      2. @flamingpandaomg I highly doubt staring at a screen, by itself, could do anything more than forever ruin your eyesight.

                        1. @redenchilada it's the way the 3D is actually implemented if I remember anything of what I read. Something about how the screen causes you to go crosseyed to get the two images to merge together.. something something yadda yadda. It was when the 3DS first came out and every mother all flipped their papayas simultaneously.

                2. @tia I saw 3D improve it's glory, part of that is because I love racing games. I stay up hours just finishing every race with impossibru time/score.

                  1. @redenchilada xD nostalgia. Although there are still some DVDs that come with those maybe. My Coraline DVD has Red and Blue I think.

                      1. @redenchilada oh that's pretty cool! The problem with tinted glasses is that if the tint on screen is off at all you see a ghost. euck!
