I lost the last contest I was in, but people started seeking me out and following me on FB because they liked what I did. Screw it. Just do what you like to do and strive to get better. Almost nobody I know has ever even heard me sing, either. Let it be a release and art form for you instead of an attention-grabbing attempt.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline I'm not assuming. You wanted accolades for what you did in the contest...which was held...at a BAR. Probably during a late hour when everyone's already drunk. People don't rate you at a bar based on your technical prowess when it gets this late. They rate you on, "Do I remember the words to this song? !%#@ yeah I do! Wooooooo! I love that guy! He's singin' Sweet Home Alabama and I'm gonna sing with him!" I'm just saying, it's a bad arena to display your talents, overall.

@clayinthecarpet I'm trying to qualify for the final round so I can win some money to pay off a debt. Singing is the only thing I'm good at. literally, no joke. And it's not just this contest. All the talent and demonstration of ability means nothing, because I'm going to sit around being a worthless person who cant contribute to society because my only quality is considered by and large to be worthless. The same would happen if I went on youtube. I'll get five views and no one will care. Frank Martel or whatever his name is, he did a sloppy version of somebody to love and gets a million views within a week, and people on television say he sounds just like Freddy Mercury - which is an ignorant lie, but hey I'm the one who cant even get recognized for my vocal control.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Lots of vocal cracking. Other than that, THAT RECORDING WAS !@#%ING GREAT, MAN. You have a much higher range than me, too. I've been told I'm like...a Tenor 2 or something...You're better than that and you have a lot of control, even for being so out-of-element for the recording you linked. I truly enjoyed it.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Sometimes you just have those days. I have them, too. You gotta treat those vocal chords gingerly and care for them always or you'll end up cracking. I was in a position in my last competition where I hadn't had to talk at all for a full day or two at a time, so my vocal chords were awesome every night I battled for the top. However, if you use them constantly and love to yell and converse, you just ain't gonna do too well later. Blah. It comes with the territory and isn't your fault.
