  1. I have no idea how HTML works, can someone explain why this isn't working properly? http://ur1.ca/gdlkq

    1. @fortecadenza What's the issue you're having?

    2. @fortecadenza The div should be contained within the body.

      1. @redenchilada Doesn't seem to stop it from flashing horribly and freaking out.

        1. @fortecadenza The flashing looks to be an issue with the site you're using. It's reprocessing the code every second for some silly reason.

          1. @redenchilada Codeacademy worked a lot better before the redesign. I've never seen it do this before.

    3. @fortecadenza You have to link directly to images to use them. You can't use shortlinks. To remember this more easily, remember that your image links need to end in a file type.

      1. @ceruleanspark I've used shortlinks for images before...

        1. @redenchilada Your browser is too forgiving. That's not even remotely standards compliant

          1. @ceruleanspark If browsers kept to strictly standards-compliant code, half of the internet wouldn't work

            1. @redenchilada Doesn't mean you can't make an effort. <img> is one of the oldest and least complex tags there is.

              1. @ceruleanspark I'm not actively using URL-shortened image references everywhere. I'm just saying browsers I've used have had no problems with it.
