  1. You ever think about calling your old phone numbers to see who answers, but stop because what if past-you did?

    1. @scribus I keep relating voices to phone numbers, as long as it's been only like a couple years.

      1. @awlditzy Most numbers I call have two or three people likely to answer, so I'm always busy with "If the one I need to talk to answers, say this, else, say that... aw, hell, it's the machine, what now!?" :p

        1. @scribus Gotcha. Maybe act like a telemarketer? How well of a south Asian accent can you pass off? (doesn't even require an accent but it proves more funny)

    2. @snowcone It'd be like, one of those times someone had called and been all "Oop wrong number" but all along YOU had been phone!

    3. @snowcone you was phone?

    4. @snowcone I thought that's what South Asian meant though, like anyone from the Subcontinent.

      1. @awlditzy south Asian generally means things like Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, etc. India is so big and different from the states I just listed that it's often just called the "Indian Subcontinent" and put in it's own category

        1. @rarity Ah, so "Subcontinent" would be better to describe those from the area.

          1. @awlditzy no. Just Indian will do.

            1. @mylittlesistercantbethisincestual Not to those from Pakistan or Bangladesh.

              1. @awlditzy those are still considered part of the Indian Subcontinent I'm pretty sure

                1. @rarity Still don't like being called Indian (even if they all are indo-aryan by culture and blood). I had made a friend of a former girlfriend quite angry by referring to her as Indian although she was bengali. Coming from someone who hails from a part of the world where one culture is different from the one in the next town I can sympathise.

                  1. @awlditzy oh, I didn't mean you should call them Indian, obviously that would dole them off. I just meant that geographically, that's the region they are a part of.

                    1. @rarity That it is, all of those states and Nepal are the Indian Subcontinent.

              2. @awlditzy pakistani and bangali (?) i think the people from that region due to historical and cultural reasons are addressed individualy by nationality and not grouped by region.

                1. @mylittlesistercantbethisincestual They all share the same blood and same roots. Pakistan was divided from the greater Indian state because they felt a seperate Muslim entity, and Bangladesh divided from Pakistan shortly after due to "ethnicity".

                  1. @awlditzy i'm aware of the history. It's because of that though that these countries are not referred to buy region.
