I am just outside London
Sunday, 15-Jun-14 21:55:30 UTC from web-
@ranma1981 Oh I've been to London a few times, it's real nice there.
-
@northernnarwhal Is it true that England is full of Corgis
-
@thewaifutyphoon No
-
@thewaifutyphoon No no no, London ON
-
@thewaifutyphoon Yes
-
@mastertdi Don't lie to foreigners
-
@mastertdi I'll believe you instead of James because I like your answer better.
-
@scoot He's boosting tourism. He's a patriot.
-
@scoot But the non-foreigners don't believe me
-
@thewaifutyphoon Booyah
-
@mastertdi Mostly because we know you're lying
-
@northernnarwhal yeah, lol I drive through London with mlp music on my radio. Don't think anyones really noticed yet.
-
@scoot I live in an igloo and just caught a seal for tonight's supper
-
@ranma1981 MAKE THEM NOTICE >:D
-
@scoot England isn't /empty/ of corgis though, is it James
-
@mastertdi No, neither is it "Full" of Corgis. It is medium-low of Corgis.
-
@ranma1981 I don't really listen to all that much MLP music but I do have a pretty big music library spanning a bunch of genres.
-
@scoot Sorry for looking on the positive, dog-riddled side
-
@northernnarwhal I just don't have a life, and WAAAAYYYY too much time/money on my hands... http://rainbowdash.net/url/764415
-
@silverline Please man, that's nothing. I have a few hundred gigs of music and that's not even counting my vinyl records.
-
@northernnarwhal How many MB does an LP weight?
-
@nerthos I dunno, I don't have a converter. The length and compression of the album's songs can all contribute to its size in MB though.
-
@northernnarwhal Just put it in your LP drive and right click it
-
@nerthos I don't have an LP drive
-
@northernnarwhal Then why do you have LPs
-
@nerthos I have an actual vinyl record player.
-
@northernnarwhal I probably have one too, but it's not as fun. Unless it's in your car.
-
@nerthos LPs for me are usually for sitting down and pouring a drink to. In my car I usually connect my phone to the stereo via bluetooth and play music through that.
-
@northernnarwhal Why would you pour a drink on your LPs
-
@nerthos >get a vinyl of Radiohead's The Bends >cut hole in the guy's mouth >pour in drink
-
@northernnarwhal Radiohead sounds like a good concept for a '50s monster
Scribus likes this. -
@northernnarwhal I has to run mine down a bit. was walking around with a laptop and EXTHDD just for it all, and over time didn't listen to all of it. Now if we wanna go into movies.... I dont wanna count...
-
@silverline So what kind of music are you into anyway mate? No point in having 80GB of the stuff if it's all boring.
-
@northernnarwhal everything just about. classical, rock, metal, rap, hip hop, fanmade, studiomade, Techno.... pick it, chances are I've got something of it.
-
@silverline What have you been listening to recently?
-
@silverline I didn't see country on there boy
-
@northernnarwhal listener about an.hour ago, Tchaikovsky before that while playing some Hawken, Beethoven for platoon leading in Planetside2... pick a mood.
-
@bakasenpai No jazz either
-
@silverline Ah, I was listening to some Handel earlier today and was just listening to a Doors 45" I picked up earlier today.
-
@silverline Oh, and for mood, let's start with happy.
-
@bakasenpai not a big country fan. its on there. Garth, Dustin Lynch, straight, currington, Urban etc....
-
@silverline How about folk? Are you into any folk at all?
-
@northernnarwhal speaking of http://rainbowdash.net/url/764439
-
@silverline I can appreciate that
-
@northernnarwhal depends on the company, usually. I.hit randomize and.play when I'm happy. tends to be metal though. heavy rock. anger for me is classical. helps me think, calms my mind. thought provoking sways from classical to rap. the electronic stuff is used as filler. its not so much collecting for me, its usefulness.
-
@northernnarwhal this is the full one http://rainbowdash.net/url/764440
-
@bakasenpai Right back at ya mate. Yoko Kanno's band's cover of Art Blakey's masterpiece for the OST of Kids on the Slope.
-
@bakasenpai http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caWY7uOlakU Forgot the link
-
@silverline I can dig metal. What kind of metal are you into?
-
@northernnarwhal like Beck folk tunes or like leadbelly and brandywine singers?
-
@silverline Either/or
-
@northernnarwhal ensifeeu
-
@northernnarwhal try this again, ensiferum, in flames, tyr, among amarth, Metallica, pantera, soilwork, all that remains.... big list. ^^
-
@northernnarwhal lmao I meant that as an answer to your question.
-
@silverline @scribus actually linked me to Tyr's most recent album earlier today. It's was aight. In Flames early stuff is totally baller too.
-
@northernnarwhal I enjoy their newer stuff as well, though people tend to look down on me for it lol. If it's good, and I can bang my head to it or it changes my mood for what I'm wanting, I like it.
-
@silverline I like their newer stuff but not as much. Come Clarity was pretty sweet though, the drums in Take This Life are really kiwiing good.
-
@silverline Is it safe to assume you're also into At the Gates and Dark Tranquility? Since those 2 along with In Flames are basically the trifecta of Gothenburg melodic death metal from the 90s.
-
@northernnarwhal Like the music, Not too big on the lyrical quality. I'm picky, a thing we've been allowed with the advent of the internet lol. But yes, I know of them.
-
@silverline Slaughter of the Soul is such a good album though, the riffs are so amazing. I'm not really even into death metal that much these days but I think when I am listening to it I take a lot of the lyrics with a grain of salt because they're really all for show.
-
@northernnarwhal You get what I'm saying, then lol. If you want understandable metal-esque, I'd recommend Soilwork and the bands that get tied to them on a youtube/google search, if you've not heard them before.
-
@silverline I've listened to Soilwork before and I'm a little on the fence but I can appreciate the musical talent of the group.
-
@northernnarwhal Listener - Ozark Empire. Totally OFF topic, but worth listening. Not everyone's speed though.
-
@silverline They're that Spoken Word band right?
-
@northernnarwhal quite right.
-
@silverline If you're into them, have you ever listened to La Dispute?
-
@northernnarwhal You don't get into #Listener, he gets into you with his message. And I know of La Dispute. On the fence to use the expression lol
-
@silverline Man, La Dispute's Wildlife is just such a bloody emotional album. Especially the song "I See Everything" that tells the story of a young boy fighting cancer.
-
@northernnarwhal I have Wildlife. Their Rooms of the House I haven't gotten too far into, honestly.
-
@silverline How about their first one?
-
@northernnarwhal complicated name... something about Altair, reminded me of Assassin's Creed lmao
-
@silverline Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair. Although Wildlife is still my favourite by them. That record just speaks to me, it's so moving.
