So far this has been the worst ever day for me; my girlfriend broke up with me, my phone screen cracked and is completely unresponsive and now there are a couple of spiders in my room. bananas life right now.

@jamster Aww man
-
@jamster Sorry to hear that. :(
-
Ok... you need a hug right?
-
@metaltao That would be nice I guess...
-
@spint I want to think there is a way I could get her back.

@jamster Dude, what was the reason? Was she SIMPLY not happy with you? THEN that is fine, keep trying but remember, that the others happines is more important that ANYTHING else in a relationship,
-
@metaltao Ain't nothing more important than honor
-
@nerthos Really? This makes me angry to be honest
-
@metaltao If you live by honor you wrong no one but neither you let others wrong you. So honor is the most important thing.
-
@metaltao She felt it was awkward between us as we weren't conversing as much as we should of.
-
@nerthos I don't follow, the quote seems to be miss-typed...
-
@jamster OH, are you a talkative person by nature? Don't hurt the person by harming your own lavable personality unless you REALLY want to change (even that can be broken)\
-
@metaltao It isn't. Wrong as in cause harm, betray, or do any other bad thing. So basically, don't do that to anyone, but neither let anyone do it to you. Honor is what diferentiates men from beasts. Someone who has none has neither restrictions nor worth.
-
@nerthos You mean. if someone hits me, hit them? If someone betrays me? THAT IS HAMMURABI! I disagree with Hammurabi greatly!
-
@metaltao I'm talkative but only when it comes to stuff that I'm really passionate about like computers, but when it comes to topics outside of that I just kind of freeze up and don't talk. I'd like to change that and I've tried but I never seemed to succeed in my efforts.
-
@jamster Just talk out loud to your self about everything, it is good practice
-
@metaltao It doesn't mean eye for eye, but you can and should reply if someone wrongs you. It doesn't mean "that guy killed your dog, so you must go and kill his" but rather, in that case, "that guy killed your dog, so you're allowed to confront and fight him without moral consequences"
-
@nerthos Isn't honour relative? Isn't it honour? I can sense that this s a well held argument sir!
-
@metaltao I guess I could give it a try, thanks by the way.
-
@jamster It also helps if you want to be a commentator
-
@metaltao It can be spelt both honor (in the american way) or honour (in the british way), there's not much of a difference. And it is well held, yes, because if everyone followed honor, then unwarranted conflict and harm would be kept to a minimum.
-
@nerthos Would it? I am not sure, I believe restraint is what you are talking about, it definetly SOUNDS like restraint
-
@metaltao And yes, it is relative to cultural laws, for example bushido is different from chivalric honor, but any of them work decently as a set of guidelines.
-
@metaltao It's different from restraint. Restraint just keeps things from happening, adherence to honor facilitates justice. Restraint alone just lets the bad ones walk away freely.
-
@nerthos Chivalry? Where the abuse of anyone but the rich is acceptable? Where if anyone insults you, you MUST put them down for their opinion? EHHHH chivalry was GOOD but it was also flawed
-
@nerthos I never said anything about complete restraint, there is more than one ways to shave/skin a cat.
-
@metaltao Yet in the modern world, without a system of castes, those flaws are gone. You didn't need to fight anyone who insulted to the death, fighting until one of the parts just accepted defeat is an option that was used a lot. You can, sure, fight someone to the death for a deeply harming insult, but it's not a common thing, otherwise a third of the population would have wiped itself out by dueling back then. Also an important part of settling disputes by the chivalric way were godfathers, who talked to eachother to find a solution that didn't require bloodshed and satisfied both parties.
-
@nerthos That I didn't know, Your Ideology reminds me of, what Church? Um, Hold on, I need to think... It is a VERY different kind of Satanism, bt your ideology seems so... like it WHY AM I RELATING THAT?!
-
@nerthos I prefer not to hurt my enemy.
-
@nerthos I don't see why someone would ever on purposefully harm me if I don't give them a logical reason to, I mean, if I never harm anyone nor get on their bad side, why would a rational man hurt me?
-
@metaltao Then you won't last long. Pacifists generally get killed or live crappy lives. If your enemy has attacked you or another without justification, he has resigned his right to well-being.
-
@metaltao Not everyone is rational. You're forgetting the world is full of vipers, parasites and sadists.
-
@nerthos I never said I wouldn't kill them if it came down to it, infact, I ain't a pacifist, I am unsure if this is new to this world IT PROBABLY isn't but I don't kill unless there IS no OBVIOUS way to do so, I wouldn't think twice... I would regret it and cry over it, they didn't deserve to die for there was a chance to save them not only from me, but from WHY AM I ACTING SO SELF RIGHTEOUS themselves.
-
@jamster http://rainbowdash.net/url/765752 Need a song to make you feel better?
-
@metaltao You don't always need to kill. There's incapacitating, maiming, jailing, and a lot of other things you can do. I disagree with you on the "they didn't deserve to die if there was a chance" ideology though. If someone goes around life causing harm for personal benefit or pleasure, that one deserves to die, as soon as possible so nobody else becomes a victim. Note that deserving to die doesn't mean execution at first sight, as I said, there are alternatives, depending on how bad what that one did was. Executing a petty thief is stupid when you can put him in jail and make him work until he pays what he stole, an indemnization, and the money spent by the state to mantain him while in jail (food, roof, basic services, etc)
-
@nerthos XD True ... true.. those who kill DON'T KILL BECAUSE THEY WERE BORN THAT WAY. A system did that to them, society breeds good but, it can also breed evil, take bullies for example, their hate is a product of the hate OR injustice at home like they were not treated with punishment EVER for their missdeeds and/or were not loved for their deeds. They then take it out on others mirroring the actions of their parents, in this world, there is nothing but victims, everyone is a victim. No one is an abuser alone, they were made that way.
-
@metaltao No, not everyone is a victim. There are victims of circumstance but there are also those who are born evil or decide to be evil. And treating everyone as a victim only makes the issue worse because punishment isn't delivered as it should. The system doesn't really hold enough power to shape personalities completely. Otherwise you'd have cities made entirely of good people/bad ones, something we don't have in the real world. The choice is there, and if you choose evil, then the consequences must come.
-
@metaltao hello, how are you, and i was wondering, are there any brony meetup's on this website, i forgot if it was or not?
