  1. Remember that I did this picture a long time ago http://adiwan.deviantart.com/art/Stand-Firm-279751782 ? Well... According to google it is the picture that was stolen the most times. It was used for puzzle games, cropped and uploaded to wallpaper sites, removed the URL at the bottom, on one site it is available for an art print, used to promote some pony mods, slapped some watermarks, various people uses it as an avatar pic, some oversaturated the colors to the xtreme. 99.99% did not source the picture. Am I horse-famous now or just ripped-off?

    3. @broniebrown I think the dude who commissioned you is the most ripped off given he paid for it in the first place.

        1. @broniebrown Now hold a hoof stomping minute. Just because someone paid someone to make something does not make the commissioner the sole benefactor for the work in question. You do not go thank George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln for Mount Rushmore now do you ? Pretty sure you have to thank Lincoln Borlum and Gurzon Borglum for that

    4. @broniebrown Hurray for internet! NO ONE EVER SOURCES ANYTHING. No, but you are the fun guy that everyone steals from and just kinda nods at when asked.

      2. @arctic0ares Why source everything? If you can defend and then explain, define, and describe then there is no need for it in a debate, it should be noted that to do so is important when you aren't a specialist in the said subject. If you aren't a specialist (I forgot the word to use in place of "Specialist" sorry :P) then citing sources should be fine but a link or name will suffice just as well.

        1. @metaltao You don't need to source everything but art and the like should be. It is just considerate and saves me the time of asking a bunch of questions like "ooo. are you an artist?" "where did you get that?" then again I don't make art so I don't really care but I do write stuff and would like if people sourced me for it. Though writing is normally easier to get sourced for.

          1. @arctic0ares I see... I KNOW HOW THAT FEELS WHEN YOU CAN'T FIND A PIECE IF ART! ;=; But appearantly if you use the URL and copy it into the seacrh bar, you can reverse image search pictures that look like it... or something BU THAT ASIDE! Yes people SHOULD cite art more often. but it can be hard to do :L So give them SOME slack not all of it or they get away and tell the police what you did to them in the basement :L

        2. @metaltao This conversation's about sourcing unattributed artwork rather than sourcing an argument. It's kind of a dick move to use someone's artwork without credit or permission.
