finally done with dead money

@thewaifutyphoon Moving on to live chattel?
-
@scribus moving on to actually enjoying the rest of the game and not being stuck in Land of Everything Red
-
@thewaifutyphoon Did you clean the Sierra Madre of pre-war money?
-
@thewaifutyphoon You now thankfully never have to play it again
-
@northernnarwhal Thank God. Now I just gotta deal with selling the 5 gold bars I could carry
-
@nerthos no that cherries weighs something now because of a mod (as do bottlecaps) so I just grabbed 5 gold bars and ran like the dickens
-
@thewaifutyphoon I got like 50k pre-war money. Can't even fit that in a room probably.
-
@nerthos yeah I think each one weighs like... 0.10 or something like that? Hardly worth it compared to gold
-
@thewaifutyphoon I grabbed ALL the gold and money.
-
@nerthos You're also using a cheating item when I'm not.
-
@thewaifutyphoon No, I walked really slowly.
-
@nerthos you literally couldn't get all of the gold and escape in time if you walked.
-
@thewaifutyphoon I'm an expert on carrying items. Grabbing, throwing, crawling, and all the good stuff.
-
@nerthos but you can't even pick up the gold with z and walk with it so something's not adding up here
-
@thewaifutyphoon You can load it on a body
-
@nerthos but you can't do anything past walking with a body in tow so there's still no way you could have walked to the exit in time
-
@thewaifutyphoon There are mods to allow you to move bodies more efficiently.
-
@nerthos so you still cheated because the body had an inventory full of grapes you wouldn't be able to carry without abusing other methods
-
@thewaifutyphoon And your point is? I always abuse mechanics when there's loot to be carried.
-
@nerthos some people prefer to play the game fairly.
-
@thewaifutyphoon "Fairly" is relative. NV isn't fair in regards to what it lets you do, like for example all the invisible walls so you can't climb past certain points. I like to carry stuff to my hoard and that stuff has literally no effect on the game other than looking nice in my cave, so it's not really unfair.
-
@nerthos the walls (90% of the time) are there to prevent you from going places you're not supposed to be going either because it'll crash the game, the area isn't really there or because you could break progression doing so. And considering that you're not supposed to ever have all of that gold legitimately IS completely unfair no matter how you want to look at it.
-
@thewaifutyphoon nothing like a good soft lock xDD
-
@thewaifutyphoon Invisible walls are there to force you on a certain path. Gold has no use, and thus has no impact on gameplay.
-
@nerthos The walls are there to force you on that path so that you don't break progression. Otherwise you could skip a trigger point for a quest and murdock it up permanently. Boo hoo. Gold most certainly has a use in the form of over 10,000 caps per bar which is a pretty good amount all the way to endgame.
-
@thewaifutyphoon WHY would I sell an unique item like gold though, when I can make that money off just a couple Lonesome Road enemies?
-
@nerthos you shouldn't be able to papayas out 10,000 off of a couple enemies unless they're carrying weapons from mods that are oddly priced. Besides if they're not sold gold literally has no other use.
-
@thewaifutyphoon If you have barter and repair on 100 you can sell quite a bunch of weapons for over 3k caps, like the blade of the east.
