@potatao It's not ideal, but it beats going though all of those legal hoops to have a short barreled rifle.

@m14brony XD That was what it was about? :L I like the look! XD Also, what is it like? Those weird straps? And, what are they for?
Sunday, 19-Oct-14 08:28:28 UTC from web-
@potatao They were originally designed so disabled people could more easily use AR-15 and AK pistols; the brace can be strapped to one's lower arm to help stabilize the gun. Of course, people quickly noticed that one can shoulder it like a stock. A rifle with a barrel under 16 inches in length is restricted and known as a short barreled rifle (SBR). There was some controversy at first, as it was assumed that shouldering that brace would constitute the illegal use of an unregistered SBR. However, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives ruled that even with the brace, the gun is still classified as a pistol; one can legally shoulder the brace like a stock.

@m14brony 'They were originally designed so disabled people could more easily use AR-15 and AK pistols'
May I say from my lazy European liberal position. What the apples.Sunday, 19-Oct-14 08:34:10 UTC from web-
@vcgriffin Yeah, I am not for blind people owning guns. That is a bit, crazy...

@potatao The brace was originally designed for a disabled veteran whose arm problems prevented him from steadily holding an AR-15 pistol. The brace wasn't designed for the blind. :P

@vcgriffin We spend the most on healthcare and education and get the least out of it vis-à-vis other industrialized countries, but I am fond of the more relaxed gun laws that prevail in a good deal of the United States.
Promoting civilian gun ownership isn't strictly a right vs. left argument; many people frame the argument as a false dichotomy. There are left-wing gun enthusiasts out there, and I am living proof of that. ;)Sunday, 19-Oct-14 08:42:51 UTC from web-
@m14brony Most? Ah hell naw! Must I remind you we spend 10X more on Military then the guy in second place? XD And, that is just with buying dole. :L The most spent on money would most likely be Military.

@m14brony Yea i get that. All states have to eventually relay on violence to enforce their existence (or to at least collect taxes). Without the tools violence in the hands of the people too. There is nothing to control the sate. Other than Democracy. and that does not work for all. (well that's the theory anyhow)

@vcgriffin The democracy we know in this world is nothing more than democracy for the rich.

@m14brony That is one hell of a problem taht could be bad. But, more importantly (Kappa), That is a long name for a Department! XD
Sunday, 19-Oct-14 08:34:39 UTC from web-
@potatao Ironically, some countries with heavily restrictive gun laws don't have restrictions on rifle barrel lengths like we do in the United States.

@m14brony Hm, Huh. I am slowly breaking out into laughter, give me a moment.
