    1. @vt3c Dude just stick to Cyanogenmod

      1. @redenchilada As a fellow enthousiast of Cyanogenmod. Do you think Cyanogenmod ( 4.1 kitkat I think ) is too much my old I9001 ?

        1. @critialcloudkicker I... dunno? My experience with Android is limited to my Galaxy SII that I installed CM9 (ICS-based) on.

          1. @redenchilada Oh, ohkay. Different question. The on-off button is kinda spastic, I feel it click but does not register properly a little bit over half of all the times. Since it is only an I9001 ( which was released almost 3 and a half years ago ) ... pay someone to fix it so I can give it to someone who is smartphoneless ? Or better pick up a cheapish new phone ?

    2. @vt3c Well it sounds like it had worse issues to compensate

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 16:37:53 UTC from web
    3. @vt3c Maybe you got a nasty download?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 16:49:09 UTC from web
    4. @vt3c Oh it deffinatly has SD support, and it seems to work ( asside from the power button, which is spastic, if I can not get that to work for a new user I will use it as a glorified MP3 player )... In case of the latter (), if it is not broke, do not fix it.

    5. @vt3c Wait, the whole Kitkat generation does not have SD card support ? or just 4.0.1. ?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:09:46 UTC from web
    6. @vt3c Ohh, wait. yeah, honeycomb is 3.+. Ice Cream Sandwich is 4.0 till 4.0.4. Jelly Bean was 4.1 till 4.3.X. and Kitkat is 4.4 and onwards. Lollipop is 5.0. Which kitkat has no SD support you say ?

    7. @vt3c Know what, I am going to get it and see if it will boot up

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:12:34 UTC from web
    8. @vt3c Let's see... I got it on... ( probably should have timed this ) .. Android 4.2.2. Kernel 3.4.47 -cyanogenmod-g7a2e966 castagnait@castagnait-virtualbox # Fri Jun 7 21:38:37 CEST 2013 ... Version 10.1 - 20130607 - dev_connection_team-telease1 -ariesve ... That tell you anything ?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:19:12 UTC from web
    9. @vt3c Yeah... pretty sure that a custom rom made for a i9000 is going to crash my i9001 in one way or another

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:21:26 UTC from web
    10. @vt3c I understood that actually :) Also I seem to run V 10.1 of Cyanogenmod right now, and not V 10.1.3 as you recommended

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:23:01 UTC from web
    11. @vt3c Probably going to just leave as-is then, for right now it at least seems as stable as it's going to get. As for the actual use of the device, well, the power-button is spastic, and as such not really "never had a smartphone before"-friendly. I have a sibling whom is doing without and has one of the first phones which came with a build in XHTML browser, not sure if she just does not know how to use it or not. Anyway, What would you reckon is better ? repair or a cheap new one ?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:28:45 UTC from web
    12. @vt3c Screendiagonal for someone new to smartphones ? Reckon it matters ?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:33:04 UTC from web
    13. @vt3c I think my head did derp. I meant to ask "Do you think the screen-diagonal matters much to someone whom is new to smartphones ?"

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:34:47 UTC from web
    14. @vt3c Even the 3GS wasn't too bad in regards to the screen.

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:36:59 UTC from web
    15. @vt3c You mean like Capacitive touch screens ?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:37:05 UTC from web
    16. @vt3c Oh wait, Resistive touchscreens were the ones you needed to avoid, right ?

Saturday, 01-Nov-14 18:40:49 UTC from web
    17. @vt3c Which means, as long as its either an iPhone 6/6plus or any android device ever created, it's fine.

    18. @vt3c *browses online* ... too bad the Huawei Ascend Y330 only has 512 MB or else it'd be pretty awesome.

    19. @vt3c The iPod Touch 2G had the same screen, and yeah it was pretty bad. my current device is a Galaxy Nexus. it's screen is beautiful.
