@pianissima I haven't worn pajamas to class for quite some time (I am often doing hands-on HVAC work in class), but I did wear pajamas when I went to the dentist not too long ago. :P

@pianissima I don't have any pet allergies (as far as I know), but the apartment complex where I live charges an extortionate $500 pet deposit. :(

@pianissima I believe $300 of the deposit would be refundable, but I wouldn't see that until I moved somewhere else. When a parent has a child that can potentially wreck an apartment, no special deposit is involved. If I had a cat that could potentially leave a hairball on the carpet or mess around with some blinds, I have to pay $500. Nonsense.

@m14brony My family's had pets destroy multiple apartments despite best efforts to prevent it. The deposits aren't unjustified.

@m14brony i think that falls under the normal security deposit. The extra pet deposits also act as a sort of liability thing for the buildin managers.

@m14brony That's the damage deposit. Also, regardless of how messy your pet is, if it has fur, your apartment will have to be deep cleaned before it can be rented to someone else.

@ceruleanspark I am not sure how things are in general, but around here, management always replaces carpeting, paint, deep cleans, etc. whenever a tenant moves somewhere else (regardless if there were pets or not). Perhaps some liability thing for allergies (peanuts and such)?
