@coutz I like Deinonychus. They're awesome, the perfect hunters in their world.

@awlditzy The dinosaurs that Crichton thought he was writing about.
-
@scribus Glad I'm not the only one who knows this. The fact that they found them in the Badlands was the first thing that told me, "wrong name". Watched the film before reading the book.

@awlditzy I didn't know it at the time, to be honest, but you can only come across so many sources based off of real science before you realize he was even heavier on the "fiction" side of the sci-fi scale than previously thought.
-
@scribus He pulled off the science so well, though, it seems believable in Jurassic Park and Timeline at least. Well in Timeline he did get it right in the French speaking Occitan at the time instead of Gaullic French.

@awlditzy He wasn't as much a hack as some critics want to pretend, but he definitely didn't let facts get in the way of a story.
-
@scribus Sci-fi seems one of those genres that can either focus on the intricacies or the story itself, and a good balance is nigh impossible. I'm more a fantasy person, but Crichton was an enjoyable read for the most part.

@awlditzy Agreed. Loved "Sphere" as an early teenager. :-)
-
@scribus Actually loved the film but never read the book; that should be remedied.

@awlditzy I loved the book and felt the movie failed to live up to it. Haha
-
@scribus Perhaps the book should move upwards in the list, in that case.
