      @scoot I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around pendulum cards. I was able to understand xyz and synchro but this is where I draw the line.

          @scoot Plus it totally breaks the game and all new games become simply centered around that specific card type, whereas before there were a variety of different playstyles based on simple new effects and combos.

            @northernnarwhal Synchros destroyed all previous playstyles for a while too though. When I started up on Yugioh properly Synchros were the new thing and decks without them would always lose.

                @northernnarwhal I wasn't around to see that. I know that the problem is that the game's designers have no idea how to do balancing and the game doesn't seem to allow for much space with existing card types so they have to keep making new ones and when they make new ones they want them to be exciting for players so they buy the packs, so they make them significantly better than the previous new thing.

                  @scoot Pretty much, yeah. They make a new card type to liven up their game, they make said card type quite powerful so it will sell, the new card type unbalances the game, another card type is introduced to quell said balance, that card type ends up becoming unbalanced, rinse, repeat, and make lots of money.

                    @northernnarwhal Exactly. I'm surprised YGO didn't just implode from all the imbalanced nonsense. I'm always frustrated by the banlist as well, because it's basically a big list of their mistakes, but they keep randomly banning and unbanning things to see what will happen.
