The other advantage of horses is they're cute and you can pet them and people won't judge you for it like they do with cars.

@ollie Also, they eat grass instead of gas :)

@caret7 thats how THEY go fast
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:01:36 UTC from web -
@caret7 Yeah and that's a whole lot cheaper. Really they're just better.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:01:58 UTC from web-
@ollie But I only need to put gas in my car if I drive it. I need to put food in a horse regardless.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:02:46 UTC from web-
@scribus That's a good point. I wonder how much it actually costs to feed and take care of a horse, that way I can compare it to gas prices and figure out which is truly cheaper.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:03:45 UTC from web-
@ollie That would be legitimately interesting to know.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:04:12 UTC from web-
@scribus So apparently it costs from 100-120$ a month minimum to take care of a horse.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:05:59 UTC from web-
@ollie yup. They can be very high maintenance.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:06:47 UTC from web-
@drunksword So basically it all comes down to how much you use your car. If you're spending over 120 dollars a month on gas, then the horse is better.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:07:51 UTC from web -
@drunksword One of my friends has two horses that run around on the mountain. If they have a big space like that, they mostly take care of themselves.

@ollie Hmm. That is cheaper than a car payment....
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:14:24 UTC from web-
@scribus As far as I know you don't need to have horse insurance either.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:15:12 UTC from web-
@ollie Damn, why did we ever stop relying on horses for transportation!?
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:17:14 UTC from web-
@scribus My theory as that we as a species hate animals and nature and the enviroment.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:18:13 UTC from web-
@ollie That theory actually stands pretty solid.

@scribus I think it may be partly because there's not much open space in the city.
Monday, 19-Jan-15 00:19:32 UTC from web-
@caret7 A good number of cities in Europe are crowded to the point cars can't really drive in their roads, also due to the fact that some of the roads weren't updated but still.

@scribus If you live with a lot of grass, the horse would eat by itself, I think.
