@coltz I've seen a few episodes of the new Daredevil series. It's pretty good, not necessarily stellar but it's kept my attention thus far with some solid writing and directing alongside some of the best fight choreography I've seen in a really long time. It's definitely more of a style over substance show, but it's entertaining nonetheless and I'll likely watch more of it later.

@coltz Other than Daredevil I've recently just been finishing all the episodes of Black Mirror since Riley's got me hooked on that, and there are a few anime I've been watching seasonally when they have new episodes out (specifically the second season of Oregairu, Hibike! Euphonium, and Kekkai Sensen).

@rarity Oh, I used to watch Mask of Light all the time with my brother when we were kids. I still remember a bunch of the lines, especially "Kohli head! You could've been lava bones!"

@northernnarwhal also yeah it's pretty dated. I watched it all the time though, and tbh I want to get caught up with the Bionicle lore again since it was pretty deep and they rebooted the series recently. Also, it really irked me, that there was so much action, but literally not a single punch was thrown and no blows were landed. Everyone just resorted to hitting the ground and making fire/rocks fall etc. definitely sticking to kid show rules

@rarity Yeah, when I was really young I was sort of a Bionicle nerd and would collect a bunch of the figures as well as watch all the movies and read all the comics and books. I don't know if I really have any interest in checking out the reboot since I have sort of "outgrown" Bionicle for a while now, but I might look into some of the older media for nostalgia and reminiscence. And yeah, it's been a long time since I last saw it but Mask of Light definitely didn't have any heavy combat.

@northernnarwhal maaaan, me too. Me and my friend had like all of the Toa and Toa Nuva, and I got most of the Toa Metru as well. I also had a weird thing for the Rakhshi (and a lesser extent the Bohrok) and played with those almost more than the Toa. I stopped paying attention around 2004 though. And honestly, if I were you I'd pick up at least one of the new Protector toys (they're kind of like this new reboot's Turaga) since they look great, fun to build, and they have INSANE poseability http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/822899

@rarity I'll probably look into it since $10 isn't that much to invest into one of those sets. I stopped buying the toys several years ago but pretty much saw the comics through to the end (which was actually kind of lousy even by my standards/metrics back then, but it was a fun ride nonetheless).

@northernnarwhal my only complaint about the Protector sets is the gimmicky 6 shooter thing they all have. Most of them have them in their weapons so it's not so bad, but the one I bought is in his chest and it's pretty goofy

@rarity Yeah, with a lot of later sets they tried to have some sort of theme across all the weapons (like how all the Toa Inika had light up weapons or how all the Toa Mahri had those gatling gun like weapons)

@rarity True, but as you said it is the nature of toys. I think also it's the nature of advertising to want to one-up themselves ("new X, now with Y!"). And hey, it worked. Young and much more impressionable me totally bought into all that.

@northernnarwhal well that's literally why they rebooted Bionicle this year in the first place. Since now instead of only getting the young and impressionable, they get the older and nostalgic as well
