                      @awlditzy Come to think of it I remember you mentioning a little while ago that you were going through the Ghost in the Shell franchise. I should probably mention that Arise is just a modern reboot of the series, not a continuation, so you really don't have to watch it right away (I also felt it just wasn't as well put together as any of the previous entries in the series).

                          @awlditzy Yeah, I'd say save it for a rainy day or something. I only really watched it because I'd seen everything else in the franchise and figured I'd give it a try. The films are a must, especially the first one. The original film was a game-changer for the industry.

            @tiffany it is really hard to get past the needless sex and nudity especially early on. Much like GoT. It would honestly be Much better without it.

              @riley I haven't seen a lot of it, so I could be totally off the ball here, but I found one of the most overt themes presented early on is this substantiation of embracing femininity, so I figure the portrayal of the female figure was supposed to articulate that in some way. I should stress it definitely felt kind of indulgent to me in places though, but I'd have to watch more of the show before I'd consider it explicitly needless.

                  @riley As I said, it did feel indulgent to me at times, but I feel that needless would imply it doesn't really serve a purpose in the show when we can both agree that it does, at least to some degree. I guess in this case it becomes sort of a matter or weighing intent and execution based on our preferences, though I haven't seen enough of the show to really critically analyze it.
