I'm not sure what happened in my life over the past month that made me start to hate everyone

@riley Puberty?
-
@scribus Probably
-
@riley Does that include me?
-
@riley look at it this way. At least one of them deserves it.
-
@tawla I don't feel like any of them deserve it, I've just developed this mindset where I wish the sun would go ahead and super nova already
-
@northernnarwhal I don't know. I don't know what it is. It's just that, things I used to not mind, hell, things I used to enjoy, just infuriate me now.
-
@riley Anhedonia, perhaps?
-
@riley join the club. It's a good thing I don't have nuclear ordnance.
-
@riley i deserve this
-
@tawla Hell, me having the power to ban people on this website is probably too much.
-
@riley ban me and let out some stress
-
@tawla You ask that so much that I often wonder just how serious you are
-
@riley i do that a lot, apparently.
-
@tawla Honestly I shouldn't have even come on here tonight. Someone like me right now has no place here\
-
@riley well I don't mean to make it worse. I'm sorry.
-
@tawla It's not your fault, it's just the conundrum of my current state of mind. Literally anything anyone could say would make it worse.
-
@riley i understand very well how that is. I'm sort of in the same state but just rational enough. Just like you seem to be now.
-
@tawla I wouldn't say I'm being rational so much as being very careful of what I say.
-
@riley tomáto tomäto.
-
@tawla to be a bit rational for a sec, I'm fairly sure the way I'm feeling right now is a natural bi product of every aspect of my life changing over the past month at an alarming pace
-
@riley yeah man, actually I figured that's what it is. Transitions of that magnitude are heavily taxing. It makes you feel like absolutely nothing is in your control, and that whatever made you decide to change one thing made an entire cascade of Potato Knishesed up.
-
@northernnarwhal sorry I missed this. Yeah I'm pretty sure that's what's going on, probably for the reason I told awl
-
@tawla yeah basically. It just feels like literally everything has changed over the past month, I don't even feel like the same person anymore
MetalTao likes this. -
@riley I think it's as you said, lots of drastic change over a short period of time. You'll hopefully settle back into a lot of your older habits once you have time to adapt to your surroundings and aren't as stressed.
-
@riley you won't be, outside of your very core. It's weathering, but it isn't complete destruction. If that makes sense.
-
@tawla I get that. That's life. It'll suck and be stressful as hell, and when I get through it I won't be the same, but maybe for the better.
-
@riley there you are. Not so much rational indeed.
-
@tawla I guess I just needed to calm down and think for a minute. Thanks.
-
@riley happy to allow it.
-
@tawla kudos for saying exactly what I needed to hear
-
@riley everyone has their moments.
-
@tawla I only fear that I turn into something that none of my old friends like anymore
-
@riley "they weren't really your friends if" bla bla bla, which isn't necessarily true; friends can come and go. What matters is making them as much as keeping them. Sometimes you have to allow the water to flow, because if you try to block it it'll overpower you eventually.
-
@tawla I guess it's just that, the way I act is different, the things I do are different, hell, the person who I considered the most important person in my life a month ago has suddenly been replaced by someone completely different
-
@riley that's natural though, especially after moving. Still what hasn't changed is your core. All these things happening simultaneously aren't necessarily bad but the more you fret because it moves too fast, or you can't categorise it all, will just make the whole thing unpleasant and ergo, you project this unpleasantness.
-
@tawla that does make sense. I guess I need to just settle down and let it happen.
-
@riley keep the things you can in check. Best you can do is try and remain calm. And what is changing will settle down into your new norm.
-
@tawla I worry too much about too little
-
@nate everyone does. What matters is how it affects and how you project. You can control the latter.
