@scribus Like, any programs or packages that would be useful. Im not new to ubuntu, but i am a bit bored and i want programs.

@techdisk42 Ah, gotcha. Wasn't sure if you meant a specific *buntu or packages. Uh.... Yeah, I got nothing, really, aside from obvious things like mp3 and DVD support (which I can never remember exactly how to do off the top of my head).

@scribus mp3 and dvd support are easy… USE="dvd mp3" in make.conf ^_^ #NotHelping

@scribus The only thing i hate about Ubuntu isnt really even its fault. For some reason (i think driver incompatibility or something) my laptop gets substantially hotter running linux than it does running windows. If it wasnt for that, i would be runnin linux 24/7.

@techdisk42 Yeah, fan speeds and/or something like that tend to be an issue, for some raisin. Or so I've read.

@scribus I think its partially because AMD makes such cruddy drivers for linux that i dont bother with them.

@widget I'm using the latest version in a VM, and it's definitely there. Seems to have been installed with its binary named as "vi", but it is actually vim once you do run it.

@widget I invoke ffmpeg directly when I need to do conversion. Does totem support GUI-less operation? And does it support framebuffer devices?
