  1. Today I looked up the costs of getting an Occulus Rift.

Today I found out that the local riding school is having a pony for sale

Guess which one would cost me more money.

    ( spoiler : It's not the one with 4 legs )

    1. @critialcloudkicker A pony would cost you more in the long run. Food, housing, medical bills, riding accessories, horseshoes...

      1. @adiwan Well, the Occulus Rift is probably gonna be made redundant once a year in line with graphics card tech, so maybe not.

        1. @ceruleanspark Do you buy new monitors everytime you get a new graphical card ? Don't let my 2006 TFT WUXGA monitor hear this.

          1. @critialcloudkicker Monitors have a standardized interface and require no particular special optimisations. VR headsets are the opposite.

            1. @ceruleanspark I thought the Occulus Rift simply had HDMI 1.4 ?

        2. @ceruleanspark Still less than the running costs of keeping a horse/pony http://www.equineworld.co.uk/buying-loaning-selling-horses/buying-a-horse/cost-of-owning-a-horse

      2. @adiwan And an Occulus Rift would require a beastly machine which does not come free either.

Also, that is a little bit beside the point. I mean I am not planning to buy either one... for now at least
