      1. @critialcloudkicker NOOBS stands for "New Out Of the Box Software", the SD Card in the Raspberry Pi comes with different OS you can install in your computer.

        1. @hfaust @critialcloudkicker To be accurate, NOOBS is a customised Debian derivative for the Pi, with a few pieces of OLPC style educational software built in. It also has a bunch of drivers for the various add ons ready baked in.

            2. @hfaust The Pi 2 could do that as well. It's only an OS in the strictest definition though.

        2. @hfaust Soo it is like paying for a linux distribution with some kind of documents, blessing and brandname from Microsoft in some sort of "littlebitleasthanIthoughtitwas" bizarro world ? ( I do not own a raspberry or banana, I thought the OS is free though )

          1. @critialcloudkicker The primary system of the SD Card is Linux, but now the R;Pi can also run Windows 10 https://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2016/02/29/windows-10-iot-core-support-for-raspberry-pi-3/
