Who ever decided that StatusNet should store URLs in the database should die. Several times.

@widget Yeah. If you want to move an instance from one URL to another you're basically in for about 5 hours of headaches trying to find all the URLs in the database.

@minti Is there even a valid reason at all to save it like that? That sounds as dumb as PulseAudio.

@omni Well the valid reason is OStatus. But there's a lot of things where it saves URLs that it shouldn't. Like it saves the URL to your profile, even though it's on the local instance and is REALLY easy to calculate.

@widget Even so, it stores the URLs needlesly. Caching the notice HTML is understandable, but caching the URL for a local profile instance makes no sense, especially since it probably takes more resources to fetch the URL than it does to just generate it on the fly.

@widget The link to the user profile (which isn't stored in the notice HTML), the user avatar, etc.
