@vienna I used to have a "My Pet Monster" when I was a kid, and I took it into school for show-and-tell one day. I'd had it for years by this point and it was pretty well-worn, maybe even beat-up. We had just finished reading "The Velveteen Rabbit" and my teacher commented that my My Pet Monster "looked well loved and might come to life any night now."
