@takebananaakenji Caffeine is a hell of a bad thing to introduce to your body in heat like that especially if your gullet isn't full with substantial food at the time. A long while back I decided to abstain from it in the middle of the day but for the last year I've fallen back on to it due to strange work/school hours.

@awl I just drug myself to sleep so I feel plenty awake the next day.

@takegrapeakenji I don't trust drugs; barely will take pain pills unless there isn't another option. At least on the trail exhaustion is a good way to knock onesself out.

@awl Oddly enough, I didn't sleep any longer after Saturday's ride (the one a week after that blog post's ride) than I would've on a normal day (with or without melatonin), even though I was definitely tired.

@takecherryakenji I've found even as being a light sleeper going to sleep is never a problem. When small noises find their way directly outside my tent they wake me up, I listen, I go back to sleep. Oddly enough the result of waking up is about the same if I were at home.
