Borderlands is running so well on this. Y'know, with every game this mere Intel HD 4000 proves it can handle, it makes me like my PS3 less and less.

@cavatina Just wait until you have for first game/driver incompatibility and some bananas on a messageboard is calling you retarded for not editing obscure ini files in the bowels of win32.
-
@ceruleanspark Ohoho~ XD
-
@cavatina FOR INSTANCE DARK SOULS, where people treat "wrestling with horrendous compatibility issues" as "part of the game"
-
@ceruleanspark That port IS god awful though...i dont even want it on PC, and thats a first XD
-
@cavatina Sigh no it isn't etc. It actually runs better on PCs than it does on consoles, even before you hack around the framebuffer limitations.
-
@ceruleanspark *shrugs* i havent played it... all i've heard is that it's really...meh. *shrugs* what about it then?
-
@ceruleanspark @cavatina I don't understand Dark Souls. Some say it's a perfectly good port, better then on consoles. Others say it's god awful.
-
@cavatina A lot of people were mad because the PC version wasn't put on a pedastal above the console version. Entitlement is basically the root of all the complaints. Without installing DSfix to bypass the framebuffer/rendering limits (put in place not due to lazyness, insufficient QA time), the game A) Has a number of content patches (that consoles do not have) to fix longstanding gameplay issues B) Free day 1 access to the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, which consoles have to wait months and pay for C) Fixes the horrendous framerate issues that plague Blighttown and Anor Londo (Largely caused by inefficient use of limited console RAM). Anor Londo is probably the single most important area in the game, so it having drop to 10FPS because some idiot doesn't understand clipping planes all the time is a huge issue.
-
@ceruleanspark Oh...right o3o, okay then! *huggles*
-
@scribble Generally the people who're saying its awful haven't played it and are the kind of people who use the term "PC Master Race" unironically.
-
@ceruleanspark hope you dun mean me...:<
-
@ceruleanspark Ugh, the elitists. They make me want to gag. I do like gaming on PC's, but I'm not so blind to think consoles don't have a place.
-
@cavatina Have you ever used the phrase "Console peasants are the cancer killing videogames" or other words to that effect? Are you completely blind to the fact that without consoles, the gaming industry would not really exist at this stage?
Scribus likes this. -
@scribble I...actually dunno how i feel about consoles now. This PC is smoking the PS3 and Xbox, even without a GPU. I do love the exclusives you get on consoles, but the rest of it? they really are so underpowered... I dont hate them, i just dont think i'll be in any rush to get another one at launch. I think you said something about being in a similar boat too...
-
@ceruleanspark I do personally feel that the consoles are holding a lot of stuff back, but of late that's changed. Especially now we have games too demanding for the consoles. But no, never said or thought that =P
-
@cavatina PCs are better, that is a fact, but, like @ceruleanspark said, without consoles, where would gaming be?
-
@scribble Nowhere, i know this. My favourite games of all time happen to be console exclusives too =P. Just...*shrugs* I dont think theres enough of a valid reason for me personally at least, to get any of the new consoles at launch. Except MAYBE the Wii U. But that's only cause nintendo's exclusives are amazing~
-
@cavatina Exactly. PC elitists probably think the Wii U is stupid and rubbish, when really, it has lots of potential. 'Sides, I'm someone who doesn't care about graphics, so one big selling point about PC gaming is something I don't really care about.
-
@scribble No, just elitists in general. Also, to be honest, me either...but the games in general are *performing* better. which matters way more to me than how pretty they look. If the next gen is 60fps all the time, i might be interested...but i like the game to not feel like it's straining a dedicated machine, built for that very purpose. Do you think you'll be getting a gaming rig? (Dont bring up money, you've told me the same line so many times xD)
-
@cavatina I would, if I could.
-
@scribble It took me one and a half years to get mine, and to finish it off, it'll take 2 more months. Shall we just assume you can? X3
-
@cavatina If I actually get some income.
-
@scribble Well no crap >.>
