Oh wow, that's... kinda creepy. Google Now figured out where I go to school because of location, and can now update me on how far I am...

@techdisk It gets even more creepy if you know that Google knows much, more more than it tells you it knows. I guess this kinda shows how quickly it learns things about you.

@omni to be honest, I stopped caring about google knowing me. What can they do to me anyway. If I need privacy, I know where to go.

@techdisk Sell your personal info to other companies, give it to the governments. And, ironically enough, the government probably already knows where you will go in case you want to run, or will be able to find it out. Though I consider Google to be relatively non-evil compared to other big companies, I'm still concerned about how much such companies know about me =/

@mushi I don't "need" privacy either, and the "bad" things I do are pretty innocent. I just like to be able to HAVE privacy, as I simply do not like even thinking of how badly people who want to ruin my life could ruin it with even the tiniest bit of info about me.

@jla That's somewhat deeper than my arguments, but clearly shows some of my fears. Thanks for that link.

@jla oh, I have stuff "to hide" its just that I know when to be discreet about that stuff.

@techdisk Have you ever told anyone online? Or searched on Google for something related to it? Then that information passed through your provider and Google or the chat provider (Microsoft/etc). Even if you just write it down locally on your PC, software like Skype may have send it to Microsoft. Hell, Windows may even be spying on you. The bottom line here is, even though you're being discreet, it's incredibly hard to completely hide things and even the slightest mistake will give your information to companies you probably don't want to let have it. Unless you keep it completely to yourself, then you should be fine, I guess (assuming the government doesn't inject nanobots into you or the likes, but lets not go down that path as there is absolutely no proof to support even the possibility).
