    Although I have a bike I'm interested in having a second bike more geared towards comfortable rides in the city: a ladies' dutch bicycle. I don't see a reason for having that ball-crushing crossbar between the legs that makes it hard to get into the saddle.

      @adiwan I still don't understand why the skirt-friendly, non-ball-smashing style isn't the standard, and kind of assume it must be a cost or structural issue

        @scribus I as browsing on some dutch bike sites and I haven't seen any difference in price between ball busters and skirt savers.
