Hmm. Having a discussion on another site. I wanna try this now: Create two exactly the same games, except for theme the graphics of one as western and the other as SciFi. Have people play them, but they're only allowed to play one version and are unaware of the other version. Have the people who play the game rate it, and in the end see how the two versions compare.

@minti I am fairly sure this is exactly how Korean MMO's work. Take a cookie cutter premise and change the textures.

@minti Save heaps of time by creating a western-themed and a scifi-themed texture pack for Minecraft, and having people who've never been exposed to Minecraft before play it with one or the other active.

@minti This can actually work with any game that lets you easily swap out all of the graphics, so it doesn't necessarily have to be Minecraft.

@toksyuryel Yeah but the idea is that they have to have almost no idea of what to expect. If I use a prebuilt game already, that goes against the initial idea. :p

@minti I'm confused. I thought I said "people who've never been exposed to game before". How could they possibly tell the difference between a game that's been around for a while and one you created just for that purpose if they've never been exposed to it before?

@minti Halfway through, swap the surroundings. Those playing the cowboy game will find themselves as a cowboy in space and vice versa. Later when the two control groups talk, they'll be all "I hated the cowboy part at the end." "Don't you mean the start??? :S"
