Wow. It is stupidly easy to get past the social network filter at my school. It dosen't even require effort.

@eaglehooves It also attempts to block Soundcloud but only blocks certain pages of the website.

@eaglehooves I suspect the filters are actually OK, but the school implementations are always a mess of edge cases and certain groups requiring special treatment etc. Can't block sex terms for biology classes, can't block drugs or violence without messing up health or history classes, can't block weird occult stuff wthout messing up religious education and so on.

@fortecadenza My old high school blocked Google for awhile. I'm not sure they ever fixed that.

@eaglehooves My secondary school used to use I-Gear. Goddamn, I used to run rings around that thing. Then they went and got some fancy sophos deep packet inspector thing and that was the end of that.
