  1. Want to turn a lamp off? Just do cURL -X PUT -d '{"on":false}' http://(your hub's address)/api/(your hash)/lights/(light number)/state.

      1. @thelastgherkin It's for those lightbulbs I was showing you in the apple store.

        1. @ceruleanspark I still think that it seems an awful lot of hassle.

          1. @thelastgherkin Yeah there's a proper app for it. The curl based access is just for the kind of person who wants to have a linux server control their lighting through cron or a webui.

            1. @ceruleanspark I think it's just for people who don't want to walk over to a lightswitch.

              1. @thelastgherkin They still work via a switch, but the beauty of hooking them up to a server is you can link them to things happening on the machine, like have your room lighting reflect the film you're watching, or music or whatever

      2. @thelastgherkin Apparently they're "So good they will ruin regular lightbulbs for you forever"

        1. @ceruleanspark This is a very suspect phrase to hear in connection with an Apple Store.

          1. @toksyuryel Philips makes the bulbs. It's their "hue" wireless range. I think they're only in the Apple store because the phrase "$60 lightbulb" would look ridiculous anywhere else.
