@dlcentaur what kind of discussion goes on there anyway?

@pony All manner of vile discussion. (With occasional interesting bits)

@dlcentaur I've wondered for a while whether I could successfully troll on 4chan. Behind a cloak of anonymity I think I might get close to it.

@pony Give it a try! It's certainly worth one.

@dlcentaur can tor users post there?
Monday, 07-Jan-13 10:16:09 UTC from web-
@pony TOR isn't exactly banned from posting on 4chan, but I think that just about every exit IP has been perma-banned for CP by now.

@scribus ah. that's kinda what I figured.

@pony Trolling on 4chan is trivially easy because, much like the populace here, they'll flip out about anything at almost no provocation. You can just poke them once and they'll still be going hours later, like some kind of idiot-jello.
-
@ceruleanspark aw. lol* well that's no challenge.

@pony Troll reddit. Aside from the parts of Reddit that are essentially 4chan2 (most of the defaults), the rest are pretty sensible and hard to get going.
-
@ceruleanspark *takes one look at /b/* I dunno.. this looks kind of challenging.

@pony Urinating in an ocean of urine.

@ceruleanspark I was thinking along the lines of messing them up with the law because that might be enough to get them shut down temporarily, but then I figured If I could it's not worth it

@pony Given that people with actual motivation and real legal teams have tried and failed, it is highly unlikely that you'd achieve anything.
-
@ceruleanspark That's because LEAs only pay attention to what makes it into the news. I'm surprised that it hasn't been done already, but not very surprised. I think all it would take is making the site look bad over a long enough period, drawing media attention to it, and inciting public outcry against it, but to do all that anonymously would require more patience than I have.

@pony *thinks* it would be interesting though, for example, to see who wins if, say angry parents were pitted against anonymous.

@widget interesting, but that's just one parent and an emotional girl. I'm thinking of getting organizations involved.

http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20100720/01585110288.shtml There was some public reaction, but not much I guess.
