@pony I think hipster bronies is a contradictory term. Being a brony is all about genuinely enjoying the show.

@kamikaze If I recall, the explanation was that it's people who started out watching it for hipster reasons but then became genuine fans of it. Which still makes it a stupid term, but it's got some kind of rationale behind it? I really don't think you can classify people by *why* they got into the show. It makes more sense to classify them by why they *are* into it *now*.

@kamikaze True. I think they mean to say that some bronies started merely as hipsters then became genuine fans. :3

@pony @toksyuryel Well, my issue is that you're not really a hipster without the element of irony. It's not a fitting brony category to me.

@pony Hipsters aren't really among the pool of people the fandom draws from in Germany. It spreads through hack spaces and hacker conventions.

@pony I'm not unsure; I am positive that I don't fit into any of them.

@toksyuryel the creative category seems like it would naturally overlap with the other 2 categories to me. I consider myself somewhat creative. I suppose I /could/ maybe fit into the hipster category, but I always genuinely liked the show, never "ironically," though I do like to stand outside the social norm. It's also true though that I might have gotten into the show much later than I did if it weren't so popular. I was never repelled by it being a girls' show, but I thought maybe it would turn out like the new Care Bears or something with less-than-interesting stories and characters so I put off giving it a chance until one fateful day when I was bored and saw a link by chance (that wouldn't have been there except that it was being discussed by a fan).
