@theglark let's put this in my little pony terms. Let's say your cutie mark was in making dresses. That's supposed to be the thing you're special with, the one thing you've got. Then Rarity, whose cutie mark is finding gems, outdoing you in dressmaking and gets all the business in town, and so on. When it's a singing competition $1000, and I don't even place at the end, I am being told that the only thing I'm good at, I'm not good at. So I need to quit while I'm ahead.
