In fact the only character who /doesn't/ die when he's killed is Joshua Graham, but unless he could be stirred to mount a crusade, it's unlike that he'd return to the Mojave.

@nerthos Graham has access to one of mankinds most potent mechanisms for getting people to kill eachother though.

@nerthos Caesar had him killed because he failed to take the Hoover Dam. He failed because Caesar put him in an impossible position. That's why Caesar didn't just kill him, but issued his damnatio memorae: Because if people started talking about what had gone on, they'd see that the failure wasn't of Grahams own making.

@ceruleanspark I've only played Lonesome Road so far. Not even finished the main quest. I take a looong time doing every little thing before doing the important quests.

@nerthos In terms of desgin, Lonesome Road is by far the best one. Honest Hearts is visually impressive, the Zion Companion is a lot different to the mojave, and even has weather effects, but in terms of content, it's very weak. Its main strength lies in Joshua Grahams characterisation. He's easily the best thing about it by an order of magnitude.

@ceruleanspark Another reason why I haven't yet played the DLC is because I'm already pretty OP because I played Lonesome Road. If I just do all the DLC I'll be stupidly overpowered.

@nerthos I did a playthrough where I did all of the DLC. I was maxed out in basically every stat and had gotten to the stage where I was using an anti-materiel rifle as a sidearm.

@ceruleanspark Exactly my point. I'm still ot sure if it's a good idea to do them before at least trying the last mission, because with the DLC equipment I'd just run through the battle and one-hit Lanius.

@nerthos he does dynamically level and is one of the highest-statted characters in the game, but even then, and without using VATS, the unique variant of the brush gun just ends him in much the same way a period ends a sentence.

@ceruleanspark The only boss so far that presented a challenge was Ulysses. Well, Rawr too to some extent, but he's just kind of a side challenge.
