  1. I see the G+ Pony Purge is in full swing. I've already lost a few ponies from my circles. May Celestia guide them to their eternal rest.

    1. @ceruleanspark Dang. I'd heard G+ was going to have a non-anonymous policy, but I didn't expect it to hit so hard and fast. I guess it's better than established, long-term accounts vanishing... =/

      1. @scribus I gather that when you get banned from G+, you get banned from /every google service/, so that's...unpleasant.

        1. @ceruleanspark Heavy, doc! 0.0

    2. @greydragon412 Any special reason why?

    3. @greydragon412 Docs, Mail, Talk, adsense if you use it, analytics, reader...everything you sign into with that account.

    4. @greydragon412 Yeah.

    5. @greydragon412 Bizarre... Though, I'm pretty sure if you keep posts restricted to certain circles (and not that extended one) they shouldn't be able to see your posts. At least, I hope so; that's my strategy. And I kind of prefer people not being able to see which circle(s) they're in - my "exes" one would get embarrassing.

    6. @greydragon412 heh Yeah, seems about right. I still remember e-mail and chat rooms being tops. Reckon I'll just keep on riding the waves. Except I never did Google Wave when it was up...

    7. @greydragon412 G+ wins. I deleted my facebook. It's terrible. G+ gives me control. I don't want my grandma's friends asking the question I was asking MY friends. I don't like how it decided to look at my contacts list that was attached to my sign on email, expecially after I said not to check my msn messenger list. *gets on g+ to try out the webcam chat*

      1. @shoutingryan Almost all of the stuff you can do with G+ Circles, you can do with facebook lists. G+ just has a much better interface for their version, to the extent that most people don't even know facebook lists exist.

        1. @ceruleanspark I know that facebook lists exist. And I know that they're not very easy to set up. But this isn't the only thing I hate facebook for. I've been debating deleting it for nearly a YEAR now.

    8. @greydragon412 Oh I asked a question.. By the new "ask question" thing. I can't restrict it to people I know or answers I place.

    9. @greydragon412 "Should I try to get my facebook deleted? (alot of people have been getting deleted over G+)"

    10. @greydragon412 I care less about the trend and more about the functionality of being able to keep in touch. Once everyone I know migrates, the old social site is useless. Internet nomads. I'd rather settle somewhere, myself, but I can never convince enough people to come back to LiveJournal. :p

    11. @greydragon412 There's a button for that in settings you know. Click the gear icon and go into account overview. You can delete your profile from there.

    12. @greydragon412 To each their own. Sorry if I came off like I was trying to persuade you.

    13. @greydragon412 I've researched this. You can deactivate by clicking the deactivate button. But you can delete it by staying deactivated for 2 weeks. To do this, you must avoid all like buttons and make sure that anything that is linked to the facebook account are not logged into, (or just unlink them beforehand) otherwise, it reactivates.

    14. @greydragon412 They're not banning people for having Pony avatars. They're banning them for having obvious fake names. I think someone has to report you first, as well.

    15. @greydragon412 I once used my gmail for a doubled account when I was a farmville addict. I deleted that account. A while back I used that email to have an account to use to promote a brony meetup group. It didn't reactivate anything. It just let me do a new account from scratch. I have other emails I can repeat the process on as well.

    16. @greydragon412 I escaped farmville when my college put a proxy on it. (thank god) I didn't have the need to use it anymore. Stayed [far] [far] away from anything like it ever since.

      1. @shoutingryan This is one of the reasons why I never use Facebook. My friends at school would keep obsessing over games like Farmville.
