Why do you people like having icons and things on the desktop? I can't stand that. It clutters up my wallpaper.

@jessi YES! 10/10
-
@jessi Because I want my desktop to be a quick start place, with shortcuts to open what I regularly use and basic information on the performance of the computer.
-
@nerthos I can do that. I have a global keyboard shortcut to open terminal.
-
@rotation I have configurable keyboard buttons, but having a selection of icons to recently played games on my desktop makes deciding what to play easier.
-
@nerthos I have an omni-search box that slides out from the right side of my screen on my PC. I just type what I want to look for. (Windows 8)
-
@jessi Ew, Windows 8.
-
@flamingpandaomg Eww icon clutter Windows 7 XD
-
@jessi That's still two more steps in the way. Also you need to know what you're looking for.
-
@jessi HAVE AT YE.
-
@flamingpandaomg My apps and files are hidden like on an Android phone. :3
-
@jessi Also, clutter? I have 10 icons and they're not even disturbing the wallpaper. XD
-
@nerthos Not really. It's not much different than clicking on your Start menu, except that mine is more dynamic.
-
@jessi It's more like using a phone than using a computer. Therefore, ew.
-
@flamingpandaomg I personally hate desktop icons.
-
@nerthos And? You use a smartphone don't you? You don't seem to be complaining about tapping away on it.
-
@flamingpandaomg They are there, that is clutter enough. It's not clean. If you have a completely empty floor but with 10 small piles of stuff organised in the side, is the room clean? No. It's messy.
-
@jessi Nerthos doesn't use a smart phone. He has an old cell phone. XD
-
@nerthos Yo dawg I'm always on my phone.
-
@jessi No, I don't use a smartphone.
-
@scoot But they're not considered piles.
-
@flamingpandaomg A brick phone. XD
-
@nerthos Good lad.
-
@nerthos Besides, I'm using a Windows Surface Pro. So my computer essentially IS a touchscreen mobile device. :3
-
@flamingpandaomg @jessi It's basically a phone-palm hybrid from back in the day, when proper touch screens still existed.
-
@flamingpandaomg Up to interpretation. I think they are a mess, a cluster of files, a pile of stuff.
-
@jessi Le eew.
-
@nerthos Less good.
-
@nerthos You keep saying eww, but all of your friends around you probably have iPhones or Androids. :3
-
@jessi DON'T FORGET WINDOWS PHONE.
-
@rotation It was cheap enough back in the day and it covers all my needs. I always liked clam phones more, but there was none in a proper price range that had all the stuff I wanted.
-
@flamingpandaomg Honestly? Who even uses one of those?
-
@jessi Not really.
-
@jessi I've seen... one person trying to use it.
-
@jessi I believe @ceruleanspark does
-
@flamingpandaomg Now THATS deserving of an eww.
-
@jessi Me.
-
@flamingpandaomg Androids and iPhones are the master race. :D
-
@jessi "Numbers makes right" is a concept that has brought humanity enough problems not to be taken seriously.
-
@nerthos "Refusing to adapt" is what caused a lot of problems with human advancement.
-
@jessi And yet adapting has brought us to our current situation, when your life can be taken away in an instant by someone without any actual skill.
-
@nerthos I'm not about to even start a psychological argument with you. For one, its immature and two, its pointless and leads to no answers and no one being right.
-
@jessi For once I must agree with you. You can keep going with the current technological trend, and I can continue using a mixture of modern and archaic technology, becasue for each of us that's the best route.
-
@nerthos Holy crap, I think I've just witnessed the first fight for days that actually ended peacefully. #whatjusthappened
-
@flamingpandaomg Welp, so much for that.
-
@flamingpandaomg What happened is that it wasn't an actual fight.
-
@flamingpandaomg Arguing is pointless. It's nothing but an ego trip with one sided, close minded opinions being spewed back and forth.
-
@nerthos It was a remotely heated argument.
-
@flamingpandaomg But arguments only turn into fights when there's idiots involved.
-
@nerthos It doesn't matter what kind of people are arguing against each other. Arguments are pointless. Debating on the other hand, is a more mature approach.
-
@jessi But debating requires an objective, and is usually aimed around obtaining a better understaning of the topic, whereas arguing is to defend a specific point.
-
@nerthos I'm logging off. You're pretty much trying to start up another argument of some sort.
-
@jessi Not really. Bye
