New to Bronydom and the Rainbow Dash Network, but liking it more every minute. :D
Sunday, 31-Jul-11 02:53:32 UTC from web-
@lucaleppi Hello lucaleppi! Welcome to rdn!
-
@lucaleppi Welcome to Here.
-
@lucaleppi welcome brony
-
@zachariastargazer Thank you very much. :D
-
@lucaleppi Welcome!
-
@miloth Thanks! :D
-
@lucaleppi No problem :D!
-
@stumperman07 Thanks! :D Feeling kinda newby, but how did you do the hugs thing?
-
@lucaleppi How are you? :)
-
@theawesomepony Thank you very much!
-
@lucaleppi no problem how are you
-
@moxximusical I am feeling quite swell right now, thanks for asking. :3 And you?
-
@lucaleppi I am good! I'm just hanging out here on RDN and playing some xbox, how about you?
-
@stumperman07 Uh-huh. Will do, then I suppose. Is there somewhere with instructions on this site? Not used to the interface.
-
@lucaleppi You can go here. http://rainbowdash.net/doc/help
-
@moxximusical Not too much here. My video games are pretty much out of reach for the moment so figured I'd take a ponybreak for the rest of the evening, and started here. :3
-
@stumperman07 That works. Thanks much! :D
-
@lucaleppi You are welcome.
-
@lucaleppi Ponybreaks are always nice. So how did you discover RDN?
-
@moxximusical Googling, linkhopping and such. I think the site that had the link to it was either a forum post which I googled upon, or it was ponify.me; I can't remember which, though.
-
@lucaleppi Nice that's basically how I found it as well. Who's your favorite pony?
-
@moxximusical Hm... Definitely Fluttershy. :3 But everypony else is so close to her level my favorites tend to fluctuate.
-
@lucaleppi Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are my favorites most of the time
-
@moxximusical My closest second favorite is typically Pinkie, but every so often another pony will do something that makes me like them more for however brief that may be.
-
@lucaleppi Pinkie Pie is always fun, she is one of my favorites too... although, they all are my favorite if I stop to think about it!
-
@moxximusical Hehe, exactly! I try not to let myself get too comfortable with any one in particular at the top of my list. :3
-
@lucaleppi Good Idea! What other things do you like besides ponies? :3
-
@moxximusical Well, I sing, and am big into music. Most of what I listen to is heavier metal, but I have a pretty varied musical outlook. And I like to play MMO's.
-
@lucaleppi I'm a singer in musical theater! I love to make instrumentals and stuff too, music is a big passion of mine and I love Industrial Metal but I'll really listen to anything. When it comes to gaming I'm more of a console/PC gamer and I'm not really into MMOs, but then again I don't know many.
-
@moxximusical also did u say that you subscribed to me earlier
-
@moxximusical A singer, too? Awesome. :D What's your voice part? (In a more choir-y sense) I like my PC games if I have a PC that can play them, and I usually don't. MMO's are really just great because they're free, usually. The one I'm playing now has a Brony guild I have yet to join. I do have a PS3 for console games, but apart from Rock Band, I don't have anything for it yet. Waiting for Skyrim! >:D
-
@lucaleppi Anything from Soprano to Tenor (I'm a girl). I'm waiting for Skyrim too!
-
@moxximusical I've always wanted to be the alto singer in an a capella bad, but my singing voice starts at about B2 and stops at G3, so that kinda puts a stop to it.
-
@moxximusical Heh, well I'm not a girl, so High Baritone to Middle Tenor for me. Very cool. Skyrim is one of the only games I've been waiting hard for for the last several years. It comes out a day after my birthday. @.@
-
@engelhardt I started as an Alto and just pushed my range while I was in choir at school. Even if it didn't sound pretty at first, practice makes perfect I guess. I kind of prefer musical theater to choir though.
-
@lucaleppi Nice! The last game I was super excited about was Portal 2.
-
@moxximusical I was only kinda excited about it cause I still have yet to play the first one. My old roomie came over during the summer and we played the co-op on it, though. It was fun. :D
-
@moxximusical I play stand up bass, so I'm more interested in baritone/bass anyway. I didn't have any interest in singing till earlier this year I met a bassist who would occasionally add a baritone harmony to the vocals. I saw him do that on stage and was like 'Aw, aww! I wanna do that!', and got interested in singing. Not like, be a vocalist, but do what he does, add the occasional harmony. Do you play any instruments, other than vocals?
-
@lucaleppi Nice, I'm also a Fallout 3 fan. The PC version of the game is better than the console version though.
Milo likes this. -
@moxximusical Haven't played it, but it looks nice. May have to look into it eventually. :3
-
@engelhardt Yes, I play the Alto Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano, and the Flute.
-
@moxximusical That's a lot of instruments. I bought a violin but I dunno what to do with it. It's weird not having an instrument that's taller than me. I guess you're not allowed to play it pizz all the time, either.
-
@lucaleppi I liked the vanilla version of the game but I modded it to make it a bit more realistic.
-
@engelhardt I've always wanted to learn a string instrument. I figured the stand up bass would be too big for me as I am only five feet tall.
-
@moxximusical Vanilla?
-
@lucaleppi Original version (without mods)
-
@moxximusical Ah. Well the mods are what make the PC versions of Bethesda-engine games so much more fun.
-
@moxximusical Haha, damn! I'm 6'4" so when I saw the bass I was like 'Ah ha! Finally an instrument that's size appropriate!'.
-
@lucaleppi Exactly! Even Oblivion was fun to mod
-
@moxximusical Well of course! I mean, one can only enjoy all of the content of Oblivion for close to 300 hours of gameplay before they have to move on to something else. *cue mods*
-
@engelhardt It would be kind of entertaining to see someone my height trying to play the bass then I bet!
-
@lucaleppi Hehehe, exactly! So are you in a choir as a singer then? Or do you do musical theater as well?
-
@moxximusical I've been in /a/ musical in middle school. (Our music department was choir and musical theater mashed up.) But I'm much more of a choir guy 'cause I'm super shy even though people really like my voice. I do, also, however, enjoy solo singing, in classical or really any style of music. :>
-
@lucaleppi Oooh, nice. I enjoy solo singing as well. I got into musicals though because the drama teacher kind of made me. I'm rather shy too, just not on the internet.
-
@moxximusical Well if the teacher thought you were good at it and you turned out to enjoy it/be decent at it, I'm sure it's for a good cause. I'm even shy on the internet... I get better when I start talking to people, though. :/
-
@lucaleppi I am always shy when I first join something, but on rdn everyone is so welcoming that it makes it easier to chat with people :)
-
@moxximusical My thoughts exactly.
-
@lucaleppi so what kind of movies do you like?
-
@moxximusical A whole lot of everything. I've seen and enjoyed movies on all genres. I actually went to see Cowboys and Aliens in the theater yesterday.
-
@lucaleppi Oh is that movie good? The previews look interesting, I kinda want to go see it.
-
@moxximusical It was very good. One of the characters (won't spoil in case you want to go see) kinda takes away from the movie as a whole, but other than that, it's very good. I wouldn't expect much different from the guy who did Iron Man. Funny story, I came home that night and was up so late watching MLP that I almost forgot I went to go see it. lol
-
@lucaleppi MLP beats any movie anytime. Well I'll probably go watch it then if it was good.
-
@moxximusical Hehe, I agree. It was definitely worth it. You should go. :D
-
@lucaleppi I will then. Do you have a favorite movie?
-
@moxximusical Favorite movie? That's a tough question. I guess if I had to pick any one it would probably be either O Brother, Where Art Thou? Or the Silence of the Lambs. Totally unrelated, I know. Haha.
-
@lucaleppi I totally love both of those movies!
-
@moxximusical They are great movies.
-
@moxximusical Lately I haven't been trying as hard to delve into movies. They just haven't seemed to be up to par with being as great as they were a few months ago lately.
-
@lucaleppi I really like Repo! The Genetic Opera (I'm trying really hard to find a shadow cast of it to be part of) and A Clockwork Orange, but I like tons of movies.
-
@lucaleppi I like older movies more than the stuff that comes out nowadays.
-
@moxximusical I usually do, as well. Although, one can only watch a select few movies so much before they have to move onto something new. I kinda wish we had the plot-development of movies predating 2000-2004 with the effects of today. Then we would have some pretty rad movies.
-
@lucaleppi I totally agree. Oh Hollywood, you so silly!
-
@moxximusical Yeah... It feels like they're out of stories and they think they can only make remakes of old movies or ridiculous sequels to 20 year-old dead series. Go figure.
-
@lucaleppi Yeah I know! That's why I don't really watch TV anymore.
-
@moxximusical I like /some/ TV as of recent. Not very much catches my eye. I like food and cooking competitions and reality shows quite a bit, and I like to follow a couple of USA series. But otherwise it's really hard to find something to watch on TV. :|
-
@lucaleppi Yeah, not a lot catches my eye either. I guess honestly I really only watch cartoons.
-
@moxximusical I don't even like the newer cartoons on TV. I watch King of the Hill on occasion, and I guess MLP counts. But so much of it is full of nonsensical "humor" that it bugs me to watch cartoons. *shrug*
-
@lucaleppi Well I watch old cartoons, I should have specified. My bad :P
-
@moxximusical Oh, haha. I love older cartoons. The 90s was a very good decade for kids' television.
-
@lucaleppi Exactly! The 90s had some of the best cartoons.
-
@moxximusical I used to love Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, Wild Thornberries... And on CN I liked Dexter's Lab, Courage... There was just so much good stuff out there. :3
-
@lucaleppi I loved all of those! Especially Courage the Cowardly Dog!
-
@moxximusical I remember really liking Courage, but I also remember not really watching but a few episodes. At least not until high school when a friend of mine had all the episodes on a hard drive and I took them off. Then I remembered how much I enjoyed it.
-
@lucaleppi I used to watch it all of the time, then it kind of disappeared for a while but it is back on now so all is well. I loved the Wild Thornberrys because of Tim Curry as Nigel. That has to be some of the best voice acting ever.
-
@moxximusical Nigel was just about the most redeeming factor of that show. If I ever decided to go back and watch it again for Nostalgia reasons, I'd definitely scout out for some Nigel-isms I didn't notice before. :3
-
@lucaleppi That is just SMASHING!
-
@lucaleppi oh that show........the only thing i can remember today is the BLAGAGALA
-
@moxximusical http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFNKccJc5eo One of my favorites. :D
Moxxi Musical likes this. -
@madflavors is that due to tumblr?
-
@moxximusical porbably yes
-
@lucaleppi Oh God yes. I have that as an mp3 and I've made a few of those -insert artist name here- feat. Nigel Thornberry vids. I only posted one though, haha :P
-
@moxximusical LOL The MP3? Is that really necessary? lol Link to your video? o:
-
@lucaleppi Well, I have it as an mp3 because I ripped it off of youtube and that way I could use it for parody purposes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgbfT4gRBB8
-
@moxximusical That video made me giggle. :3 That makes sense to have the MP3 for that, then.
-
@lucaleppi I'm glad it made you giggle, that is what it is there for.
-
@moxximusical I didn't even know that was ever a fad on YouTube... o-o
-
@lucaleppi Oh yeah it kind of spread from tumblr to youtube I never posted that video on tumblr... I probably should do that.
-
@moxximusical Hmm, I guess so. I don't even have a tumblr, so I wouldn't have known it was ever a fad on there either. ._.
-
@lucaleppi I like tumblr, but I hardly use it.
-
@moxximusical I'm the kind of person who would use it to write blog-esque posts, but then would get halfway through writing one and either second guess myself and tell myself it's not well written, or convince myself that no one could care. :/ So I avoided it.
-
@lucaleppi I thought I would use it but then I just ended up looking at just about every post tagged 'tattoo' and really haven't done anything else with it.
-
@moxximusical XD Best. Use for Tumblr. Ever.
-
@lucaleppi also, if you had a tumblr I would care about your posts :3
-
@lucaleppi Thank you, I thought it was totally worth it xD
-
@moxximusical I didn't even know tumblr had a search option. o.o
-
@lucaleppi I just explored tags and saw tattoo was a popular one and I was like CUSS YEAH TATTOOS! And thus began my adventure into the world of not using tumblr correctly. :P
-
@moxximusical Meh, I'm not huge on tattoos. But I guess they wouldn't put tags there if they didn't have /some/ use for filtering through interesting posts.
-
@lucaleppi True. I want to work as a piercing artist in a tattoo parlor so I love that kind of stuff. To each their own :3
-
@moxximusical Indeed. If it's what you like to do, it's all good. :D Perhaps you could be a tattoo artist who sings and dances on the job. Ehehe. :P
-
@lucaleppi That would be pretty awesome, I have a new goal :P
-
@moxximusical Tattoo Parlor: The Musical! (On Ice?)
Moxxi Musical likes this. -
@lucaleppi OH MY GOD YES. My life is complete now.
-
@moxximusical Not until you're acting in it! >:D
-
@lucaleppi Well, true. Maybe its more like I just earned my cutie mark instead.
-
@moxximusical owo What would that look like? :3
-
@lucaleppi Maybe two tattoo guns dancing on ice with music notes surrounding them...? That is a complex cutie mark.
-
@moxximusical I think it's probably too complex for a cutie mark. :P Of course, whatever works.
-
@lucaleppi Maybe I'm still a blank flank. I haven't actually checked :P
-
@moxximusical Nothing wrong with blank flanks, though. It means you have room to change your mind. >:3
-
@scribus That would look so amazing!
-
@lucaleppi This is true. I am contemplating getting a cutie mark tattoo, I just can't pick which one I like the best. I'm thinking Rainbow Dash's would look pretty cool though.
-
@moxximusical I'd love to get a cutie mark tattoo. Only if I knew it wouldn't still be there at age 60 or something... lol Which is kinda why I would be afraid to get /any/ tattoos. You should definitely go with Rainbow's. It's more... unique than the others, I guess is the right word.
-
@scribus Yeah, that would be an awesome shirt. I bet somewhere in this wide, wide internet there is one.
-
@lucaleppi I understand the feeling, I was really hesitant to get my first tattoo at first because I was afraid I wouldn't like it when I was old. Now I have plans for at least 3 more tattoos :P
-
@scribus I'm inspired to go search for one now :P
-
@moxximusical It's something you gotta be absolutely comfortable with. And I'm just not there. But hey, if you like it, then go for it. :3 I'm sure I could find cutie mark memorabilia in a more /wearable/ format on the internet somewhere.
-
@lucaleppi Actually http://sharkrobot.com/pony-tees has some good looking shirts for pre-order.
-
@moxximusical zOMG that's really cool. I'll need to invest in one or two of those. :3 I was actually thinking it might be more entertaining if there was like a pair of jeans with the cutie mark on the "flank" so to speak. Just to have for the fun of it.
-
@lucaleppi You could learn to embroider or sew on patches. In fact, I bet people have already made patches somewhere on etsy. I think I know what I'm going to do to a pair of my jeans tommorow....
-
@moxximusical Hehe, sounds like a good idea. I might end up doing it more than once if I had the resources. @w@
-
@moxximusical If you find something you should link me. :3
-
@lucaleppi I make plushies (not that they're good plushies :P) by hand so I have a ton of fabric. Hmmm, etsy seemed to only have buttons and pins. If I were to make said patch, what cutie mark would you want?
-
@moxximusical You make plushies?! Omg, that's awesome. :3 Uh... I think that paying would be a bit difficult for me, at least right now. But if you were to make one of these patches, I'm thinking Rainbow Dash has the best one. :P
-
@lucaleppi http://www.etsy.com/shop/MissAllerz?ref=seller_info She made some hair clips that seem to serve the purpose we want as well. I feel like a winner.
-
@lucaleppi Oh it wouldn't cost anything m'dear :3
-
@moxximusical Aww... But we don't even know each other. :3 I'd feel bad if I weren't paying. Also, awesome find. If they'd clip onto a jeans pocket that would make my day.
-
@lucaleppi "The clip can be used in the hair with or without a ribbon, or as a cute accessory on a shirt collar, purse, or belt." If it can be used on a belt I bet you could find a way to clip it to a pocket. Either that or take the clip off of it and attach a couple of safety pins.
-
@moxximusical Huh, I guess you're right. :3 I'll bookmark that.
-
@lucaleppi Woo! I still wanna try my hand at making my own out of fabric, considering those hair pins were vinyl.
-
@moxximusical You should. I wanna see how they turn out. :D
-
@lucaleppi I'll post a picture when I finish mine... if it turns out good :P
-
@moxximusical Even if it doesn't, I wanna see... :P Where would you post it?
-
@lucaleppi Well I would probably post it on here, facebook, and tumblr.
-
@moxximusical You can post pictures here? Well that solves a lot of problems. I'll just worry about that, then.
-
@lucaleppi Haha, I didn't reply when I posted that picture, but I posted a picture.
-
